' it's in style to be comfortable ... in Hungarian iroecf Pledged .More Aid The University Hungarian Stu dent Project received an addi tional boost Thursday when the Lincoln Rotary Club pledged $60 to the project to be used for the transportation of one student to the University from Port of Entry. The student YMCA, although not a recognized student organization, has voted to give full support to the Project. The Project Committee has re ceived an application from the World University Service, coordi nators of agencies hnadling the placing of refugees in universities throughout the country. The application asks what guar antees in regard to housing, tui tion, books, clothing and mainte nance funds will be available at the University. This application was filled out and returned immediately, in ord er that the University can be at the top of the list in the request for students, said Barb Sharpe, chair man of the Project Committee. O. tSZi Detroit 21, llkfcifin Hungarian refugee students in Vi enna, Austria, has now registered more than 1000 students. Of this number, 135 have indi cated that they would prefer to resettle in the United States. The committee anticipates, on the bas is of interviews in Graz and Vien na, that at least 150 additional Hungarian student refugees will wish to come to America, making a probable total of 285. Ocean transportation for the Hun garian students is 'jeing arranged by the Intergovernmental Commit tee for European Migration. WUS has established procedures for interviewing students in order to determine their academic qual ifications. Although students seek ing resettlement are young by American university standards, they have been studying highly specialized fields such as medi cine, engineering, forestry, geo detics. Almost- half the students regis tered to date have indicated a de sire to study one of the branches of engineering.
