DAILY NEBRASKAN Sunday, September 21, 1941 ISpDAtSu mm I ' By Bob Miller j Nebraska radio fan will be able to hear all of the Husker home games this fall via KFAB with veteran Bob Russell at the mike . . . Russell called the plays in the broadcasting booth last year and did a creditable job . . . It must have been an exciting spectacle that took place down in Lawrence, Kas., on Friday night ... It had all the earmarks of a great deal ... It seems that the Jayhawkers went through their paces for Coach Gwinn Henry against a team of freshman and alumni ... In a KU press release it was announced that several stats of the Kansas team of 1931 would take part . . . No wonder the varsity could roll up a 40-7 final score . . . What amazes us is the fact that the "old men" could push across a counter . . , Attention: Messrs. Kelly, Hern don and Waddick . . . Please no tice last night's paper ani see how the home team came out . . . 'Ord Turns Back Grand Island, 7-0' was the comment , . . Red Littler, who got his star, leaving the big boys behind when they were chasing him, is ap proaching another milestone in his career as a Husker sprinter . . . Latest word coming to us direct from "The Red Demon" indicates that November will see him don ning an army uniform . . . His lift into the military service cour tesy of the draft . . . Notices . . . Among the scores of the Friday night games came the announcement from down St. Louis way that the Jefferson Bar racks squad ran away from North East Oklahoma to the tune of 32-6 . . . The interest in this an nouncement comes from the fact that a former Nebraska football letterman, Arlo Klum, is tutoring the team . , . The team's chances were enhanced this fall by the an nouncement that Paul Christman would be on hand to play . . . Paul went to the sailors, however, to offset the rumor . . , Students Have Acre to Badminton Courts Badminton, the popular, fast game so highly acclaimed on the coasts, is now available to patrons of the Union, Pat Lahr, social director of the Union, announced Thursday. The one available court is located at the east door at the rear of the building. Because of the high cost of the equipment, a fee of ten cents is charged. Fees are to be paid and equipment checked out at the check stand in the Union lobby. 1941 Big Six Football Schedule DATE NEBRASKA OKLAHOMA IA. STATE MISSOURI KANSAS S.
