She was converted at an early age, and united In For o number of years, she had been In failing health, but still able to be up and about in her home, until the last week of her life. Survivors are sons Walter of Murdock, Alvin of Greenwood and Carl of Murdock; daughters Mrs. Grace Wark of Sioux City, Iowa, and Mrs. Lucille Fleming of Falrport, N. Y.; a brother, Fmil Miller of Murdock; six grandchildren, and five great gtandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Ebenezer Evangelical United ! membership with the Emmanuel Brethren Church, Murdock, Dec. EUB in 1892, where she was ac tlve until her marriage. June 12, 1902. she was united In marriage to Henry C. Backe meycr of Murdock. They had four sons and two daughters. Following her marriage, Mrs. Backemeyer transferred her church membership lo the Cal lahan Church, and later when this church united with the Eb enezer congregation, she be came a member of Ebenezer EUB Church In Muraock. She was a charter member of the Women '3 Society of World cH-rvice, wmcn sne served as president, and ilso In other ca pacities. She was also a member of the local Ladies Aid. In 1939, Mr. and Mrs. Backe meyer moved from the farm where they had resided since their marriage, to their retire ment home in Murdock, where the husband ar.d father passed away in May, 1957. Their son Edgar had preceded the father In death in March, 1957. 8 with the Rev. O. W. Matzke of ficiating. Burial was In Callahan Cemetery near Murdock.
