Mr. and Mrs. Steve Reed of Neligh visited their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Will ard Leming Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Reed have been operating a hotel at Neligh but will move to Valentine and have a hotel there in the near future. Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Mickle, Mr. and Mrs. Orville Gerbllng of Elmwood were with Mr. and Mrs. Harold Nickel Thursday evening celebrating Mrs. Har old Nickel's birthday. Mrs. Mic kle brought the birthday cake. Mr. and Mrs. Forest Hardnock and family visited relatives, Mr. and Mrs. Neal Adair and fam ily at Lincoln Sunday. Mrs. Lee Copple and children and Mrs. Edward Muenchau and son visited their mother, Mrs. Bengston at Albion from Friday until Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Howe drove to Spalding to the home of their daughter and son-in-law Mr. and Mrs. B. J. McMana man Friday and attended the Burwell Rodeo Saturday. Sun day, Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Howe and Ardith and Marva and Mr. and Mrs. McManaman drove to O'Neill for dinner. Ardith and Marva had been at Spalding a week and returned home with their parents. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Anderson of Wichita, Kan., cousins of Mrs. Elmer Haas, visited Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Haas Thurs day. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Thompson and daughter Dorothy from Iowa and Mr. Thompson's par ents of Lincoln visited Mr. and Mrs. Dan Rueter Sunday after noon. The Thompson family were neighbors of the Rueters living where Mr. and Mrs. Har vey Heier live, at one time. Elmer Haas's nephew and wife, Capt. and Mrs. Phillip Haas from Rock Valley, Iowa, visited Mr. and Mrs. Elmer, Haas Tuesday and were overnite guests. Capt. Haas has been stationed in Greenland for a year and they were on their way to Portland, Ore., where he will be stationed. Mrs. Vernon Ewing of Denver was a house guest in the Ewing home for several days last week. Mrs. J. L. Carnicle is visiting this week at Fairmont with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Pearl Flowers. Joyce Campbell spent the weekend at home. She is spend ing the summer with the Bill Zoz Jr. family at Murdock. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Schmader of Louisville and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Keiser and Carol of Om aha were' guests in the Claude Sack home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Livers and family were dinner guests of Mrs. Vyrl Livers at Ashland Sunday. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. Keith Livers and chil dren of Ashland. Mr. and Mrs. Warren Peter son and three children of Taho City, Calif., came Saturday and spent until Wednesday with Mrs. Peterson's-'. ' parents, Mr. and- Mrs. Wilby Cox. Mr. and Mrs. Gail Cox of Omaha spent Sat urday afternoon. Tuesday, a family picnic was held, with Mr. and Mrs. Malcom Peterson and family of Council Bluffs join ing the group. Sunday visitors with Mr. and Rudolf Vervaecke were Mrs. Herbert Keckler and children, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Vervaecke and Mrs. Cyril Vervaecke, all of Louisville. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Siecke of Littleton, Colo., announce the birth of a daughter Aug. 9 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Denver. She has been named Susan Di ane. Mrs. Siecke is the former Elinor Fidler. Bill Rosencrans attended the 40 and 8 meeting at Howells Thursday evening and was in Lincoln Saturday for the State Legion Convention. Jimmy Carnicle returned home Friday after spending the week with his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Rosenboom at Lyons. Terrl Pankonin was a guest of Mary Lou Carnicle on left for her home in Sumner, Wash., Wednesday. Wednesday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Rosencrans, Jack and Tom, were Mrs. W. C. Soen nichsen of Plattsmouth and Bly the Rosencrans and. daughter Carol of Chicago. Mrs. Clyde Haswell of Mur dock, Mrs. J. L. Carnicle, Mrs. Jack Rosenboom, Debra and Mike Carnicle were visitors in the Larry Carnicle home Satur day. Mrs. Gale Baum and daugh ter Christine of Gerlng spent Friday and Saturday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Parrish and Leon. They were Friday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Furerr at Yutan. Mrs. Baum and daughter return ed with Mr. Baum to their home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Lee of Weep ing Water spent Saturday eve ning with Mr. and Mrs. Russell Campbell and family. Mrs. Paul Campbell, Mrs. Gil bert West and son of Lincoln and Mrs. Helen Schulte of Ash land drove to Veresford, 8. D. NEWS From EAGLE Mrs. John Fischer Phone 984-6141 Mr. and Mrs. Vincan Westlake of Gering, Neb., visited over night at the home of h's cousin, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Westlake last Friday. The Wm. Heebners, of Weeping Water, Neb., were guests at the Westlake home during the Gering guests visit. The latter also visited at the Dave McKay home, who are also cousin relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald McWil liams and family of Du Quoine, Illinois, formerly of Indian apolis, Indiana, visited his par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarke Gon zales, a few days this week. He is a former Eagle graduate and moved to present location, due to position transfer. Mrs. Edwin Neeman accompa nied her sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Morlan, of Lin coln to Estes Park, Colorado, and also visited relatives, at Ogallala, Neb., recently, enroute to and from the trip. j The Evan Root home was a sceiieJ 'of 'approximately 30 rela tives, gathering at the horh'e re cently, to help Timmy Root, celebrate his 7th birthday. On last Saturday evening a chicken supper was served the men folk of the Root family relatives. Howard and son Stanley of Eagle, Marvin Root of Palmyra, Orville Kettelhut and son of Lincoln with Evan Root and son as hosts, at the latter's home. The women folk attended the mother-daughter banquet at the Methodist Church nearby. Mrs. Nina Frohlich and her granddaughter, Karen, of Colo rado, enjoyed a trip to Seattle, Wash., and attended the World's Fair, also visited Mrs. Froh lich's sister and family, the Denny Headley family at Seat tle. Her brother Bill Trunken bolz of Lincoln flew to Seattle during her stay. Mr. and Mrs. Eldee McKay and son Ellis, visited at the home of their daughter and fam ily, Mr. and Mrs. Rex Smetter's at Goehner, Neb., last Thursday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Malone and family and her mother, Mrs. Bessie Mocroft, and latter's son, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Mocrofts and daughter, attended the graduation of Mrs. Mocroft's grandson, Logan Keriakedos of Omaha, who graduated Friday evening from the University of Nebraska. He is now in the Air Force. Mr. and Mrs. Rhyland For rester of Lincoln were dinner guests at the home of her sister, Mrs. Tena Butt Sunday. Mrs. Martha Mundhenke of Milford and her daughter, Mrs. Grant Stewart and son John of Wilmington, Del., were dinner guests of Mrs. Mundhenke's sis ter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. H. D. Fischer last Saturday. The latter's daughter, Mrs. Dan Lazier of California, arrived on Thursday evening and enjoyed the visit with the relatives men tioned above, returning to her home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Billy Ketelhut spent Sunday at the home of her cousin, Mr. and Mrs. Jim White, at Ulysses where they attended an annual picnic. Sev en cousins with husbands and wives attended. Six of the cou ples had observed their 50th wedding anniversaries and the seventh was planning for theirs in April, 1963. The Mmes. Ray Reynoldson and William Ketelhut attended the American Legion Auxiliary State Convention in Lincoln on Friday and the Delegates Ban quet at the Hotel Lincoln. Mr. and Mrs. Clarke Schro der of Grant have been visiting relatives at Eagle. They came to Lincoln for the Legion Con vention. They visited Mr. Schro der's sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. John Halvorson and son Roland Halvorson's, Mrs. Schroder's sister, Mrs. Elda Schroder and her sons Alfred and Arnold Schroder and fam ilies, near Eagle.
