Blue Devils Drop 2 Games, Play Here This Friday Plattsmouth's Blue Devils lost two basketball games last week end to make their record 2-8 for the season. Bishop Ryan of Omaha admin istered a methodical 72-51 beat ing here Friday night as Joe Cascio eased to 20 points seem ingly without turning a hair. Plattsmouth's ball handling was a main drawback. The Devils lost the ball 25 times on pass interceptions and mechan ical errors. Field goal shooting percent ages were 35 (14 out of 40) for Plattsmouth and 45 (28 for 62) for Ryan. Dan Schultz hit three for four and Roger Beverage five for eight but there were only six other PHS goals. Denny Campbell, sinking 10 of 12 free throws, led the scoring with 16. At Beatrice Saturday night, shorter Beatrice used balanced scoring despite unimpressive shooting to win, 45-40, for the first time this season. Campbell was high again with 12 but Plattsmouth scored poorly in the first and fourth periods, getting G and 8 points. Plattsmouth shot field goals at a 32 per cent clip on 12 for 37 and Beatrice had 24 per cent on 15 for 64. Grade School Cage Meet To Begin At Louisville LOUISVILLE (Special) The Grade School Basketball tourna ment will be held in Louisville this year, Jan. 29-30 and Feb. 1. The first round of games Mon day matches Waverly and Weep ing Water at 5 p.m. The second game will start at 6 betweeen Louisville and Elmwood. St. Adelbert drew the fir:st-round bye. Tuesday evening St. Adelbert will play the winner of the first game of Monday evening at 6 and at 7:30 the winners of the second and third games of Mon day evening will play.
