Shepherd has seen amy in Alaska and Washington and al.so spent four years in Japan. Jane Steinkamp, 8, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Steinkamp, fell on an icy street last Friday while on her way home from school, breaking her two front teeth. The remainder of the two front teeth had to be removed. Mr. and Mrs. William Zaner, Sr. and family of Omaha were Friday evening supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Fiala and sons. It was a farewell supper for William Zaner, Jr., who has: been home on leave from the Navy. Mrs. Bill Workman of Mur dock and Pauline Workman were Wednesday evening callers ; at the Danny Workman home. Mr.s. John Groathousc and Sandy, Mrs. Ray Faubion and Mrs. Ralph Wildrick were Wed- j nesday afternoon guests of Mrs. Frank Wildrick. The ladies spent the afternoon playing pinochle. Frank Koterzina, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Koterzina, Sr., will report for his basic training at Fort Carson, Colora do on February 1. He has been manager of the Ault Appliance. Metz ger, local chairman, the Moth ers March of Dimes will be con ducted in Louisville, Tuesday evening, January 30. Those as sisting will be Mrs. Willard Mc Shane, Mrs. Dick Streeter and Mrs. Elwood Pankonin. Mr. and Mr.s. John Moren attended the funeral of George Thompson in Omaha Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Terryberry of Lincoln were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mr.s. Fred Terryberry. Mrs. Richard Streeter enter tained the little neighbor chil dren at her home Thursday after school honoring the 7th birthday of her son Douglas. Douglas received nice gifts and lunch was served by Mrs. Street er before the youngsters went home. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Ahl and Mr. and Mrs. John Moren cele brated the birthdays of Mrs. Ahl and Mr. Moren and the wedding anniversary of tire Moren's at a Kuouer at a Restaurant in Bel- levue Saturday evening. Mrs. John Groathou.se and children were Monday evening guests at the Ralph Wildrick home. Mrs. Hazel Dolan will present twenty of her pupils in a piano recital at the high school audi torium Sunday afternoon begin ning at 2:30 p.m. Mr. and Mr.s. Phillip Hennings received word Saturday of the death of their nephew, Jerome Scheinost, G7, of Omaha. He had been ill for almost two years He is survived by his wife, Mat- tie, and three sons, Paul and Earl of Omaha and Floyd of Kansas City, Mo. and eight grandchildren. Funeral services and burial were held Monday at Creighton. Nebr., his former home. John Mockenhaupt of Manley is slowly improving at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mocken haupt in Lincoln following sur gery at the Hryan Memorial hospital in Lincoln. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Mockenhaupt took Mr. John Mockenhaupt and Miss Mary Maher to visit him Sunday. Lyle Beck and Amos Beck were Sunday afternoon callers at the Ernest Beck home. Saturday guests of John Gakemeier were Mr. and Mrs. Clark Gladden of Omaha. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Sheehan entertained at a supper Sunday evening honoring hj 7th birth day of their daughter, Cindy.
