Plans were made for the Christ mas party. Mrs. Harry Brock hoff was a guest. Avoca womans club met Wed nesday with Mrs. Eldon Ahrens. Mrs. George Allen led the de votional period. Mrs. Marshall talked on Census. Mrs. Ernest Norris gave the history of the womans club. There was also highlights of the constitution. Mrs. George Shackley, West Boror Missouri a former mem ber and her neice Mrs. Parmen ter, North Boro, Iowa were guests. Plans were made for the Thanksgiving dinner Sunday evening. The Housekeepers Extension Club met Thursday noon with Mrs. Elmer Hennings. Mrs. Ed Nelsen and Mrs. Maynard Bruns gave the lesson on making in side and outside Christmas dec orations. This was a cooperative dinner. Friednly Farmerettes Club met Friday with Mrs. Vernon Dettmer. Roll call was "What I am Thankful for." The lesson was making Christmas decora tions. Plans were made for the Christmas party at Mrs. Croun over Dec. 4. Mr. and Mrs. Will Baier left by plane Monday for Orange, Calif, to visit their son Dwight and family. Mrs. Elizabeth Colzean, Los Angeles has been a house guest of Miss Meta Mueller this week. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Elmke attended the funeral of Lester Beers, 51, at Syracuse Wednes day. Fri day he went to Camby, Oregon to visit his brothers Joe, Omar and Harry and families. They had a get-together at Joes place. On Monday he was in Audubon, Iowa and Tuesday attended a board meeting of the hall of fame at Kansas City. John Maseman, Denlse and Lynne, Lincoln called at the Henry Maseman home Sunday. John Mohr has been ill the past week with pnemonia. -- Mr. and Mrs. John Stubben dish were in Syracuse Tuesday evening to see his brother-in-law Henry Kasten who has not been very well. Among those attending fun eral services for Mrs. Nettie Ward Zessln at Weeping Water Wednesday were Mr. and Mrs. Louis Ruhge and Mx. and Mrs. Hans Jensen.. Mrs. Fred Llnhardt fell at her home Wednesday and was unable to get up. She called and finally got the attention of Kordy Pittman who was passing by. She went to the home of her daughter Mrs. J. L. Young, Mur ray. Her other daughter Mrs." Claris Bates, Nehawka also helped her. Bill Davis high school coach sprained his angle Thursday at Basket Ball practice. He went to school on crutches today.
