THE PLATTSMOUTH, NEBRASKA, SEMI-WEEKLY JOURNAL Thursday, May 19, 1960 LETTER BOX (The Journal welcomes com ments from readers and will use them in the letter box if they are pertinent to current Interest and in good taste. They can be used anonymously; however, The Journal must know and ver ify the Identity of the writer, even though the name is not published. Unsigned letters will not be used in any instance). To The People of Plattsmouth: I am writing this in regards to the Zoning Ordinance of Plattsmouth. I would like to know who pass ed it and why wasn't it put up for vote by all the people of Plattsmouth, I feel it should have been explained so that everyone understood it and then a day set for everyone to vote on it. I talked to Mr. Robert's (may or) one evening and he says no trailers are to be parked outside of a trailor Court. Well, I will use my husband's folks for just, one instance he has lost one leg. His wife is bed fast. So you can see that the money they get from a trailer parked on their place comes in real handy. If the new housing , doesn't want them parked there fine don't let anyone park them there. We along with others that I know have our own ground and have planned on buying a trailor to live in but guess we won't be able to. I have always been told this is a free country. Well, that is for the birds I guess. I don't know if this will be put in the paper or not, but would like to hear what other people have to say about it. Mrs. Raymond Sand, Plattsmouth (Editor's note: official hear ings were held by the Zoning Commission and City Council prior to passage of the ordin ance. These hearings were ad vertised in advance in legal notices and also several times each as news in The Journal. The ordinance contains a "grandfather clause" which gen erally allows usages in effect to be continued for their current duration.) Cars Collide on Old State 50 A two car accident occured at an intersection two mile south of Louisville on Old State No. 50 at 7 pjn. Tuesday. A car driven by James Breck enridge of Weeping Water struck the right side of a car driven by Kenneth Winkelhake of Weeping Water. The accident occured at an intersection and the blinding sun may have been the main factor in causing the accident. Damage was heavy to both ve hicles and minor injuries were sustained by both drivers, ac cording to Deputy Sheriff Joe Kruntorad Vho investigated.
