Arthur Skinner have been painting the house occu pied by Mr. and Mrs. Skinner. Mrs. Mabelle Elliott relates she his another Granddaughter. Her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Ilalverson. are parents of daughter born June 2. They have another daughter and a son. Mr, and Mrs. Ralph Suavely and Billy Lee were at the home of. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Stoll at Eagle the evening of the 4th. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Snavely and Billy Lee were at the home of her brother, Mr. and Mrs. John Chandler and family Sat urday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Haas moved to Alvo Saturday morn ing. Mrs. Haas was the former Nita Mullen. They have lived in Lincoln since their marriage. Mrs. Zadis White (Bonnie Muenthaui came from Boulder, Colo., to attend the funeral of her grandmother, Mrs. Buck nell, and is now visitng relatives. Mrs. Augusta Bucknell was found dead in bed Thursday morning by her brother, George Frolich. She had been in poor health for several years but was as well as .she had been for some time. She was 84. Services were held Saturday afternoon at the Methodist Church with burial in the Alvo Cemetery. During the winter months Mrs. Bucknell and Mr. Frolich have been making their home with Mrs. Bucknell's daughter, Mrs. Grace Linch in Lincoln, coming back to Alvo in the spring. Mr. and Mrs. Don Halversen of Caledonia, 111., came over the weefend and took Lomv.c and Randy home with them, leaving Danny and Bobbie for a few weeks visit, with grandma and grandpa John Halversen and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Fischer and family of Lincoln were at the home of Lee's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Fischer and Carol, Fourth of July, they attended the fireworks at Ashland in the evening. Mr. and Mrs. Willard Lem ming, Johnny and Jennifer and Aaron Howe attended the mid get and .stock car races at Lin coln, Friday evening. Mr. Dick Wyler, son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Orville Marcoe won the first speed race. He drove a stock car and midget car in the event. Judy Weichel and Patricia Roclofsz went to Lincoln Sun day afternoon to practice with the Junior Salt Creek Ranglers Club. The girls will ride at the Ak-Sar-Ben at Omaha July 27 wth the club. Mr. and Mrs. Everett Morton have been on the sick list this past week. Mrs. Morton is feel ing better but Mr. Morton will have to remain quiet for awhile with a heart condition. Mrs. Morton's brother, Stanley Huber of Beatrice has been with them for a couple of days. He went home Sunday but planned to return the middle of the week. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Kinney entertained their sons and fam ilies, Mr. and Mrs. Junior Kin ney, and children, Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Kinney and family and Mrs. Kinney's parents Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kyles of Greenwood Sunday. Mrs. Minnie Johnson's, daugh ter Helen, Mrs. Earl Bright of Alliance, came to be with her mother for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Vickcrs drove to Beatrice Sunday to see their daughter Verna, Mrs. Frank Smith. She entered the hospital again on Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Kendall Dim mitt and daughters were at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Dimmitt Fourth of July night for supp? r. Mr. and Mrs. Kendall Dimmitt, and daughters entertained her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Boydton of Ashland and nieces, Jeanette and Pamela Stickney of Lincoln also Aunts of Mrs. Dim mitt's, Mrs. Ben Noercnberg and Mrs. Ralph Hageman of Ithica and Mrs. Lottie Boydston of Plain View, Nebraska and Mrs. Rachel Morris of Lincoln, Thurs day. Mr. and Mrs. Kendall Dim mitt and girls entertained uncles of Mrs. Dimmitt's, Benson Boy ston of Renton, Wash., and George Boydston of Rapid City, S. D., Tuesday evening. Clayton Fairfield, Mrs. Alice Vernoy and Leona of Lincoln were at their parents' home, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Fairfield, Friday. Mrs. Minnie Peterson and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Tal Ed wards and family entertained another daughter and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Stein (Lulu) and three daughters of Wichita, Kan., over the Fourth of July weekend. The Cook and Sew 4-H Club met at the home of Ruth Doug herty Monday. Dianne Rogers gave a demonstration on how to tell the bias of fabric, also the length and width. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Klyver called at the home of Martha and Henry Detmer at Havelock Saturday. Mrs. Dick Fischer and Carol and Mr. and Mrs. Lop Fischer and family of Lincoln called at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Klyver Friday afternoon.
