Mrs. Sadie Shrader and Gerald, were Mrs. Jeanette Young, Mrs. Clarence Young and daughter, Kay, all of Wheatland, Colo. Evelyn Thorne of Omaha was home for the weekend, Sunday dinner guests of the Kelly Thor nes were Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Thorne and daughter. Dr. John Barmore and son, David, Omaha and Dr. Bnr more's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jennings Barmore of Whittier, Calif., were guests Friday after noon of the Hall Pollards. Mrs. Josephine St. John was taken to Clarkson Hospital Sun day afternoon and her mother, Mrs. Ruth B. Pollard was tak en to Rest Haven home in Weep ing Water. John Royal, of Dell City, Tex., son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Roy al came Thursday to spend sev eral days with his parents. Mrs. John Chandler and Bar bara spent the past weekend at Lincoln General Hospitail where Barbara was put in walk ing casts and she is now able to get around on crutches. She has been in a wheel chair for the past six weeks. Mrs. Ralph Snavely of Alvo came Tuesday for them and they stayed at the Snavely home until evening whe Mr. Chandler came for them. The Saavelys and Mr. and Mrs. Hennlng Johnson were guests Sat urday evening at the Chandler home. Mr. Dall is seriously ill. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Rutledge returned home Saturday from Silvan Lak, Brainard. Minn, where they spent two weeks. They were joined by Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Newton of Platts mouth and Mr. and Mrs. B. D. Burke and Ayyln Kay of Lor raine, Ohio. Mr. and Mrs. Wildon Switzer and Gerald visited at the Alvln Horn home near Weeping Water Sunday evening and visited also with Raymond Horn who is home on leave before going to Ger many. Mr. and Mrs. Vernie Flesh man and family of Ogalalla were guests the past week of the Ran dall Switzers. Mrs. Jim Sparger and Linda of Santa Monica, Calif., were house guests Wednesday and Thursday of the Jake Staperts. On Saturday the Staperts enter, taincd Mrs. Sparger and Linda at a luncheon and ice skating in Lincoln. July 4th weekend guests of the Staperts were. Mr. and Mrs. George Kenyon and family and Mrs. Lewis Christo pherson and daughter, Linda, all of Holman. Wise. Mary Kenyon remained to spend two weeks with Sandra StaDert. Mr. and Mi. Vernon Bangert and family of Milford, were gu ests Sunday of the Senn Wadd ells. Susie Sand of Lincoln, Linda, Mary Jo and David Zech of Douglas are spending this week with the F. O. Sands. Dr. and Mrs. Clayton Bruce and children left Monday after noon by plane for their home at Ogden, Utah after spending a week wit her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oren Pollard. Dr. and Mrs. Bruce and family and the Oren' Pollard were dinner guests Wednesday evening of the Mal colm Pollards were dinner guests and spent the evening with the Oren Pollards and the Bruce family. Saturday evening Dr. and Mrs. Bruce, Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Pollard. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Pollard, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Hansen, Mr. and Mrs. Vance Balfour had dinner to gether In Omaha. A picnic Sunday at the Tuck er Park in honor of the Bruce family included 50 relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Everett White of Lincoln attended the picnic and later were guests of the Oren Pollards. Mrs. Melvin Sturm and her daughter, Mrs. Jack Reece and children of Ashland returned home Wednesday from Wichita, Kans., where they were house guests for several days of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Ficke. They visited Mrs. Sturms father, H. W. Steinmeyer at the hospital in Wichita. Mr. Steinmeyer had been very ill and underwent surgery. He was doing as well as could be expectd. Mrs. Sturm was in Ashland Monday night and Tusday and was a guest at a Bridge Party Tuesday evening at the Reece home. Mr. and Mrs. Sturm spent the Fourth with the Rece fam ily. A number of friends gathered Monday morning for a coffee honoring Mrs. R. R. Andersen on her birthday. Mrs. Merritt Dodson, Mr. and Mrs. Robret Schlichtemeier and family were guests Friday eve ning of the Senn Waddells. Mr. and Mrs. Waddell visited Mrs. Katie Schlichtemeier and Clara in Omaha Wednesday. Evelyn Thorne, Omaha, was an overnight guest Thursday of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Thorne. Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Pollard visited the John Norrises of -Avoca Monday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Nolte's guests Thursday evening were Mr. and Mrs. Julian A. Johnson and family, on Friday evening Mr. and Mrs. Dick Johnson and famil, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Stone and sons, and gn Saturday eve ning, .Mr. and Mrs. Ken Rob erts and family of Omaha. Mr. and Mrs. J. Pollard were dinner guests Friday eve ning of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Le mon. Don Schlichtemeier. son of Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Schlichtemeier had his tonsils removed at the Clarkson Hospital Friday. Mrs. Villentta Conn of Panama, Nebr., was a weekend guest at the Schlichtemeier home. Pamela Redden spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Em. mitt Hicks. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ayers, Ll coln, Mr. and Mrs. Andy Scho maker and family, Omaha were July 4th guests of the Emmitt Hicks. Roger Dodson who spent three weeks with his sister, Mrs. Leroy Johnson and Mr. Johnson at Leonardtown, Md., saw many things of interest. He had the opportunity of sitting in on a session of the Senate, toured the White House and Capitol, the Smithsonian Institute; was present for the dedication on Flag Day of the new "Hall of Military History" at the Smith soniand Institute and saw the 17 gun salute by the Presidents own honor guard. He also saw the change of the guard at the tomb of the unknown soldiers, saw Senators Knowland, Ken nedfy and Secretary of Agricul ture Benson. Sunday afternoon and supper guests of the Deane Nutzmans were Mr. and Mrs. Grove Nel son and family of Milford. Mr. and Mrs. Ned Nutzman and fam ily joined them and in the aft ernoon all went to Arbor Lodge and John Browns Cave at Nebr aska City. Sunday afternoon guests of the Clifford O'Connors were Mr. and Mrs. John O'Connor. Peru, Ar nold O'Connor, Lincoln, and Cla ude O'Connor Sr. Mr. and Mrs. George Poulos. and Sharon, Auburn, were gu ests Thursday evening of his mother, Mrs. Laura Poulos. Mrs. Laura Poulos entered St. Mary's Hospital for x-rays Tues day morning. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Ross and family, Nebraska City were guests Sunday of the Sterling Ross family. Mr. and Mrs. Emery Field and three daughters!, Arlene, Margaret and Jean of Oroville, Calif., arrived Sunday to spend ten days with Mrs. Field's par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Hall Poll ard. The Fields visited at Salt Lake City with her sister, Mrs. Elton Newman, Dr. Newman and family, enroute here. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Schlichte meier and three sons spent the Fourth of July at Schuyler where a family reunion was held in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Budin of Aberdeen, Wash. The three boys remained to visit their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James Budin of Clarkson. Dr. and Mrs. Ellis Schlichte meier and daughters, Ann and Jean of Spencer, la., were gu ests of the Stuart and Robert Schlichtemeier families on Mon day on their way for a vacation at Estes Park, Colo. J. D. Lyons of Shenandoah, la., and Mrs. Verda Dinesen and family of Avoca, la., were guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schomaker. Mr. and Mrs. Vilas Chappell and family of Olathe, Kans., were guests Thursday of Mrs. Tillie Swartz. R. H. Ingwersen, Weeping Wa ter; Miss Laverna Ingwersen, Omaha and Mr. and Mrs. Shel don Mitchell and family were guests July 4th of the Sterling Ingwerpens. Plattsmouth at a picnic. R. H. Ingwersen remain- ed nt the Sterling Ingwersens for a longer visit. Mrs. Marion Tucker left Thurs day evening for Denver, Colo., to attend the funeral of Mr. Dyke Marshall, who passed away Thursday morning. His wife, made her home with the Frank Sheldon family for some time. Mr. Marshall died of a heart ailment. Ernest Kropp returned home from St. Marys Hospital Fri day. Wesley Redden, son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Redden was two Sunday and his birthday din ner guests were Mr .and Mrs. Neil Redden and family Platts mouth Mr. and Mrs. Rose Red den Mr. and Mrs. Emmitt Hicks Mr. and Mrs. Ray G. Nixon and Gladys Mr. and Mrs. Gene Hicks and Twila Mrs. Bertie Hicks were guests Sunday at the birth day party of Ruth Ann Wessel of Avoca. Ruth Ann was ten and had ten little girls as her guests. Bob Wunderlich returned home Friday from Dome Lake Wyo., where he took his family two weeks ago for a vacation. Judy Atteberry and Norman Ross ac companied them and will stay with Mrs. Wunderlich and chil dren for a longer vacation. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Waldo of Topeka Kans. came Thurs day to spend the weekend with the Wm. Waldos. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Wlech mann and family of Liberty, were guests July 4th of Mr. and Mrs. R. N. Ward and Kent. Fri day evening all went to Omaha to meet Mr. and Mrs. Richard Lawson and son of San Diego, Calif. Saturday night and Sunday the Wards and their guests from California visited at the Wiech mann home at Liberty. Carl Erickson, Denver, Colo., was a guest Sunday of the Frank Warden family. , Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Johnson and Roger Dodson arrived Thursday at the Harold Dodson Mr. Johnson was discharged from the Navy Air Force and they will spend some time here with the Harold Dodsons. Roger Dodson visited with them for three weeks and returned home with them. Mrs. Amelia Heldt and Harry Knabe were dinner guests Sun day at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Simons and Barbara Ann of Wahoo. The dinner ob served the birthday of Mrs. Heldt and Barbara Ann. Other glests were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Miller, Miss Ann Heldt Mr. Hans Hoist and son, Glen, all of Yutan. La ter they visited with Mr. and Mrs. Harr Speckmann and their guests Mrs. A. . Manceaux and daughter, Teresa, Ontario, Can ada; Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Wauthena, Kans. Mrs. Betty Whitney and friend, Mrs. Thalma McLaughlin of Se attle, Wash., were guests from Sunday until Tuesday of Mr. and Mrs. Merritt Dodson and family. Monday, Mrs. Dodson, Jackie Sharon and their guests spent the day in Lincoln with Mr. and Mrs. Nels Lockard and family. Mr. Lockard is the brother of Mrs. Whitney and Mrs. Dodson. Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Mayfield were dinner guests at the Har old Koop home Thursday. Others present were Orville Koop, son and daughter, who are visiting from California. Richard Heim came home from the hospital Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Ragoss and Mrs. Heim drove up to bring him home. Mr. and Mrs. Dayton Hennings and family, Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Derby and family were among Love Library in Lincoln Mon day given by Dr. Bereday on the culture and education of Rus sia. Dr. Bereday is from Colum bia University. Mrs. Amelia Balfour was a guest Sunday afternoon of Miss Nora Hinrichs and Mrs. Helen Peterson of Nebraska City and on Tuesday of Mrs. Nan Car gten of Avoca. Guests of Mr. and Mrs. JVm. Jorgenson on the Fouith were Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Haffke and family, Plattsmouth for dinner and in the evening, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Schmader and Mrs. Alice Haffke of Louisville. Mrs. Emma Nutzman and Mil dred spent a week with Mr. and Mrs. Wm. August and family at Brush. Colo., and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Spry of Oconto, Nebr. Mrs. Spry is the former Alice Stockham of Nehawka. Miss Jan et Nutzman with Air France of San Francisco stopped enroute home from New York where she spent several weeks on a bus iness trip. She was a guest of Mrs. Emma Nutzman and Mil dred Friday and Saturday. A family dinner Friday was held at the Deane Nutzman home. those attending the Grnhm fam ily reunion at the City Hall Sun day honoring Mr. and Mrs. Ot'o Grahm, Gait, Calif, who are visi ting here. All of the Grahm fam ily, about 75, were present ex cept George, who lives in Ne vada and Fred, who lives in Kansas. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Ingram called at the Will Ingram Jr., home Friday evening, to make the acquaintance of the new baby girl. Carl Lange of Omaha took Mr. and Mrs. Lester Tennant to Oma. ha Friday to attend a family picnic at the Lloyd Tennant home. Others present were Mr. and Mrs. Douelas Osterberg and family, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Park and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Lange. Mr. and Mrs. Ten nant stayed over. Lloyd Tennant brought them home Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Brlcker of Ashland called at the Elmer Johnson farm home Sunday.
