There has been a few cases in Weeping Water. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Sack of Murray were Saturday night supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Cooper and family. The Cascade club met Wednes day at the home of Mrs. Homer Jameson. Guests were Mrs. Claude Hollenbercer, Mrs. E. J. Bender, Mrs. William Jameson and Marel Koester of Illinois. Next meeting will be March 26 at the home of Mrs. Lawrence Johnson. Chapter BT, PEO, met Fri day afternoon at the home of Mrs. E. J. Bender with Mrs. Homer Jameson as co-hostess. Mrs. John Norris gave a book review. Next meeting will be March 14 at the home of Mrs. Ben Olive with Mrs. Frank Cook as co-hostess. Mrs. Earl Freeman of Avoca reported that her nephew, Rich ard Midkiff, underwent surgery on his leg Tuesday at Neubruc ke, Germany. He was injured quite some time ago in a car accident in Missouri when he first joined the army. lie has had several operations on his leg. He is the son of Oscar Mid kiff of Union and the grandson of Mrs. Lydla Midkiff of Union. Mr. and Mrs. Less Lokie of Auburn were Monday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Lau rence Wiseman. Carol's birthday was March 1. Ruth Ann Patton was a Thurs day overnight guest of Mr. and Mrs. Arvin Patton and family. Ruth Wiles was a Monday eve ning guest. MAO Extension Club met on Wednesday at the home of Mrs. Clarence Schmadeke. The group voted to give money to the dia betic camp and Heart and Can cer Funds. Mrs. Adam Cook is staying a few days at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Cook and family and she hasn't been feeling too well. Mrs. Hattie Sperry, who has been ill, is in Lincoln with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Sperry. The teachers and officers of the Christian church held a meeting at the church to plan for the coming three months. The group voted to purchase a Chr istian church signboard to be installed on the new highway east of town. A nominating com mittee was aooointed by the superintendent with Mrs. Schro cder as chairman, assisted by Arnold Upton and Mrs. Ray Ehlers. The meeting closed with prayer by Mrs. Maurice Ham n.ons. The Odd Fellows held a par ty Wednesday evening in the hall with the Rebekahs as gu ests Mrs. Gerald Wright of Den ver came Tuesday and took her mother, Mrs. John Ileebner, to Colorado with her. Mrs. Hecb ner hasn't been too well since an attack of virus flu the past few weeks. I The School of Christian Serv-I ice will be at the Murdock EUB Church March 6, 13, 20 with Rev. Dick Deems and Rev. Vic tor Schwarz co-deans. Also on the planning committee are Mrs. Don Christenson, Mrs. Alvin Groesser, Mrs. Ted Wilson, Dr. Richard Heim, Eldon Oehler king and Stanley Schroeder. Mrs. Lee Stratton and Ken neth were business visitors in Plattsmouth Monday. Wayne Cherry, El Paso, Tex., son of Mr. and Mrs. F. B. Cher ry, has been appointed manag er of the Newberry dime store at Denver. Marilyn and Kelly Miller, the daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Stan ley Miller Jr. who are patients at Bryan Memorial hospital, are reported to be improving. Mrs. E. T .Stacey entered the hospit al for observation and returned home Monday. Mrs. Leonard Doty, a patient at the same hos pital, is also reported doing well following surgery. Bill Baker entered Bryan Memorial on Wednesday and underwent sur gery Thursday. Mrs. John Mead is a patient at St. Mary's hosr pital in Nebraska City. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Lindsey and three children have moved to a farm in Otoe county, east of Otoe. The Bizzy Citizens .club of the 7th grade elected Henry Hoff man, president; Ronald Jose, vice president; Phyllis Hohman, secretary; Irvin Mather, treas urer and Janice Domingo, re porter. The Junior class of the Weep ing Water high school entertain ed the Freshmen, Sophomore and Senior classes and the sch ool faculty at a "sock hop" Fri day evening at the school audit orium. Records were played for dancing. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Strat ton were Monday night guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Martin. The evening was spent playing pinochle. Mrs. E. Thomas Stacey visit ed Thursday morning wtih Mrs. Bill Dohrman and children. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Raines are parents of a son, George, born Feb. 24 at St. Mary's hos pital in Nebraska City. Mr. and Mrs. Harlon Stock, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene McDon ald and Jack Miller were Tues day evening lunch guests of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Miller of Lin coln following the game. Mrs. Phillip Compton is visit ing her sister in Denver for two weeks. The Royal Neighbor Lodge met Friday afternoon in the lodge hall with a good attend ance. The members of the lodge voted to accept the Avoca Roy al Neighbor Lodge into their lodge. Refreshments were ser ved by Mrs. Bussell. The Crusader Class of the Christian church held a class party Friday evening. Mrs. Stan ley Schroder led singing. Host esses were Mr. ana Mrs. Arn old Upton, Mr. and Mrs. St anley Schroder and Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Rothe. Mrs. Elwin Isaac and boys of Manley were Tuesday visit ors of Mrs. Pace and Mr Pace, at Rest Haven. The Sew'n'Sews met Wednes day evening at the home of Mrs. Bill Dohrman with 11 members present. Mrs. Walter Anderson was the guest of honor on Monday after noon for her birthday. Refresh ments were furnished by the guests. Mrs. Murray Mutter baked the birthday cake. Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Holschar and boys and Mr. and Mrs. Ed ward Holschar of Cook, Verna Jean Holschar of Omaha and Mrs. Ed Freeman were Sunday dinner'and supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Freeman and family in honor of the birth day of Mrs. Ed Holschar. Mr. and Mrs. Allen Ehlers and family of Avoca and Mr. and Mrs. Allen Ehiers Jr. were Sun day supper guests of Mrs. L. R. Ehlers. Mr. and Mrs. August Ruge of Murdock visited Monday af ternoon with Mrs. L. F. Ehlers. Wilbur Frenzel was a Friday evening guest. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Norris of Avoca visited last Thursday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Lau rence Eidenmiller and family. They showed pictures they had taken in Alaska. Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Eiden miller and Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Ludwick enjoyed their dinner together in Plattsmouth Thurs day evening. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Armstrong of Lincoln were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hunt. The Retired Farm Ladies club met at the home of Mrs. Herman Rauth, Mrs. Frank Pace was a guest. Next meet ing will be March 28 at the home of Mrs. Lester Hoback. Mrs. Hy Kirchhoff and Erma attended a fruit and vegetable shower Sunday afternoon for Marianna Linhardt at the home of Mrs. Albert Kirchhoff and Alberta of Cheney. Others at tending from htis vicinity were Mrs. Homer Jameson, Mrs. Ed Slattery, Mrs. Harry Critzer, Mrs. George Kirchhoff, Mrs. John Kirchhoff and Mrs. Fred Kirchhoff. Miss Linhardt will marry Robert Kirchhoff on March 17. Mr. and Mrs. Gayle Loren sen and family of Syracuse were Sunday afternoon guests of Mr. and Mrs. Willis Lorensen and family. i Mr. and Mrs. Robert John son and Warren moved to a dif ferent farm Monday and Tues day. Clarence Norris. who is a pat ient at Bryan Memorial, is a little better at this writing. Mrs. Hattie Taylor's condition re mains about the same .Mrs. Raymond Taylor of Lincoln comes each weekend and takes care of her. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Rasmus sen who have been living in Al aska are visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Rasmus sen and family. Their son, Ed win, is also visiting with the Rasmussens. He is temporarily stationed at Fort Omaha as his mother's health isn't too good. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Miller of Lincoln were Sunday after noon and lunch guests of Mr and Mrs. Harlon Stock and Sha ron. Mr. and Mrs. Stock were Sunday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. William Lee. Mrs. Dora Albin who lives at Rest Haven has been in poor health the past few weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Wiles were Sunday evening guests of Mr, and Mrs. Ralph Keckler. Mrs .Myrtle Gothrop of Proc tro, Colo., underwent surgery Monday at Sterling, Colo. She is a sister of Mrs. Art Taylor, Mrs. Mary Pedersen, Mrs. John Sheehan and Will Newham. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Schroe der and family were Tuesday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Clement Conradt and family of Louisville. The Schroeder fam ily were Sunday afternoon gu ests at the Wendell Bell home In Murray. Janet Schroder, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Schrod er, will be capped as a nurse at capping ceremonies March 16 at Pius X School. Miss Schroder has taken her nurse's training at the St. Elizabeth hospital in Lincoln. Rebekah Kensington met Wed nesday afternoon at the lodge hall. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Rathe are parents of a daughter, Mary Jo, born March 1 at Clarkson hospital, Omaha. She weighed 8 pounds, 6 ounces. The Rathes also have two boys and a girl. The Lauies uiub of Pleasant View held their February meet ing at the home of Mrs. Wend ell Hart with nine members and a guest, Mrs. Rudolph Hart, in attendance. Mrs. John Jochim was unable to present the les son on Savory Soups so she sent some soups to the meeting. The next meeting will be at the home of Mrs. Clarence Engel kemeier March 27. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Baker and family were Sunday dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Don Urwin and Roger in Louisville. Afternoon guests at the Urwin home were Mr. and Mrs. Richard Norris of Avoca. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Sprieck spent Sunday evening in Omaha. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Stohl man and family. Mr. and Mrs. August Stohlman Sr. were Sun day visitors at the George and Elmer Stoehr home.
