The nutria, sent from Califor nia to Gerald Bossard of Nor folk, had been secured in pens in Lehman's lake, two miles south of Norfolk. Seventy escap ed and only 12 were immediate ly recovered. Eight others were either shot or trapped and there have been unconfirmed reports that several others were also trapped. School board caucus will be held at the Murray school on Tuesday, March 11, at 8 p. m. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Gunarson of Sargent spent the weekend with their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Whipple. Mr. and Mrs. George M in ford and son called on Mr. and Mrs. Will Minford on Feb. 25 to help Mrs. Minford celebrate her birthday. The Chi-Rho Group from the Christian Church were treated again to a rollerskating party In Nebraska City Wednesday evening. Some of the adults en joyed the skating as much as the youths. Guests of Mr. and Mrs. Mar Ion Worthan on Saturday was their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. George Hobscheidt, Ann, Jerry and Dennis, of LaVerne, Iowa. The Hobscheidt's spent the week end in and around Plattsmouth visiting relatives. Myron Rhea of Yates Cen ter, Kansas surprised Mr. and Mrs. Glen Thompson and Mrs. Metta Ray on Monday evening when he" stopped on his way home to spend the night with them. Mr. Rhea is a cousin of Mrs. Thompson. There were 23 representatives of the Murray Christian Church at Alvo Sunday evening and the group brought home the banner that is given for the most pre sent from one church. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Lan caster were callers in the Mar Ion Worthan home on Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Thompson Mrs. Metta Ray and Mrs. Jes sie Smith of Mynard were Sun day dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Miller and family of Omaha. Other guests present were Mr. and Mrs. George Thompson and family of Omaha and Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Miller of Lincoln. School Board Caucus will be held at the Murray School on Tuesday March 11 at 8 p. m. Guests on Wednesday evening for dinner in the Jesse Jorgen sen home were Mrs. David Rel- chard of Denver, Colo., Mrs. Margaret Mathiesen, Bob and Dick and Ricky Hill of Council Bluffs, la. The Lewiston Social Circle Club meeting will be postponed from March 11 to March 14 at the home of Mrs. Fred Camp bell. Rev. Joe Barr made a routine check early Sunday morning at the United Presbyterian Church and found one of the church's furnaces afire. The gas was quickly turned off and the only damage was to the furnace. Church services as usual next Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hoschar, Connie and Lonnie visited in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Wohl farth, Patty and Alan on Mon- day evening. It was the birth day of Mr. Hoschar and Mr. Woh farth.
