Other games on the schedule: Jan. 9, at Glenwood; Jan. 16' at Belle vue; Jan. 23, Nebraska City; Jan. 30, Hellevue; Feb. 0, at Nebraska City. All games are at 3 : 30 p. m. I Palmyra won the reserve j game, 51-10. i Murdock's next home game is ; Dec. 13 against Avoca. Don Thumann Back To Army Base Tuesday morning Pvt. Don Thuman departed for his army station, Virginia. He has been visiting his relative and school friends for the past two weeks. He has had a very pleasant time with the old friends and enjoy ing Thanksgiving with members of the family circle. Don is a member of the en gineer corps of the arms and spent his basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. Snake bites and bee stings helped account for 52 deaths in a recent year, the National Safe ty Council says. Award of 30 letters for var sity football year at Platts mouth High School today was announced bv Coach Burdctte Hansen. Joe Wheeler Is Now Showing Improvement The many friends of Joe Wheeler, over Cass county and this section of the state, will be pleased to learn that he is showing a marked improve ment in the last few days. He is at his home in East Rock Bluff precinct. Attends Meeting Of Farm Managers In Chicago This Week Steve Davis, local realtor and farm manager, attended the an nual meeting of the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, Decem ber 1, 2 and at the LaSalle Hotel in Chicago, 111. This meet ing was attended by 330 farm managers and rural apprais ers from all over the United States and Canada. The Society is an association for establish ing and maintaining sound pro fessional farm management and rural appraisal service. The meetings were all held as lec tures with question periods. Stcvarf And Murphy Teamed In New Film Two of Hollywood's top box of fice stars James Stewart and Audie Murphy are teamed in "Night Passage," outdoor action thriller from Universal-International which opens Sunday, Mon day, Tuesday; Dec. 8-9-10 at the Cass Theatre. Co-starred with Stewart and Murphy in this turbulent tale about banditry and pioneer rail road building in the old West are Dan Duryea, Dianne Foster, Elaine Stewart and 14-year-old Brandon deWilde. Top support ing roles are played by Jay C. Flippen, Herbert Anderson, Ro bert J. Wilke and Hugh Beau mont. An especially interesting facet of this production is that it is the first picture to be filmed in Te chnirama, a new wide-screen color process developed by Tech nicolor which is said to be clear er and sharper than any other photographic process now in use. The picture was directed by James Neilson from a screen play by Borden Chase and was produced by Aaron Rosenberg. Consumers Adds Service Truck Consumers Public Power Dis trict here had added another truck to its service fleet, a Chevrolet pickup. It will be driven by Charlie Christensen, superintendent. The district here now has four trucks. This district ser vices Plattsmouth. Union, Mur ray, Nehawka and rural areas in surrounding territory and services many miles of trans mission line. ABS Truck To Make Stop Here An American Breeders service truck will travel over 3,000 miles to deliver frozen semen to tech nicians in eight midwestern sta tes and stop in Plattsmouth Dec. 8. Techinicians Dick Fischer of Murray and Harold Wall of Eagle will secure a two-week supply of bull semen which can be kept indefinitely. The truck will return on a two-week basis for future supply. Use of frozen semen is new in this country, was developed by British scientists. The truck left Madison, Wis., Dec. 2 and will travel in Illinois. Wisconsin, Missouri, Iowa, Kansas, Okala horaa, Texas and Nebraska. Plattsmouth Lodge No. 6 Elects Monday Monday night Plattsmouth lodge No. 6, AF & AM elected officers for the ensuing year. The officers elected were: Raymond Lancaster, Murray, worshipful master; Delbert Todd, senior warden; John Jana sck, junior warden; E. J. Wey rich, secretary, Maynard Ramge, treasurer. Messers Weyrich and Ramge were re-eleted to the posts they have so efficiently served for the past few years. District Court Judge John M. Dierks Tues day signed a decree awarding George F. West an absolute di vorce from Florence M. West and giving West custody of a minor child, in District Court here. A new case filed in the court is Harry Brunner vs. John Klimm et al, suit on a note. Board Allows Filing Right-Of-Way Claim The Cass County Board of Com missioners Tuesday at their reg ular meeting here passed a mo tion allowing V. A. Mockenhaupt of Alvo to file a claim for $500 for ground taken for country road right-of-way. They also approved a raise in salary from 275 to $300 a month for the deputy sheriff. Mr. Study was killed apparent ly yhen his tractor slipped sown a fifty foot road embankment, and crushed him. He was laid to rest Tuesday, Dec. 3, at Thurman, la.
