Study on Japan is a very interesting study directed by Mrs. Don Christen sen. Two recent deaths of CiRed Lincoln residents were both for mer Eagle residents, Albert Schutrurn, 87, died last Sunday. Funeral services were in Lin coln, Burial at Memorial Park. He was a native of Eagle, spent the last 52 years in Lincoln. Mansion Taylor, South Cotner. 91, was alo a former Eagle Merchant 53 years ago and a relative of the Dysart famly also former Eagle residents, now residing in Iowa. The former Shirley Drake, a former student of Eagle Schools and her sister Carol vn Drake, visited Eagle friends on Sunday afternoon. They live in Califor nia. The Senior M. Y. P. had a turkey dinner Sunday evening at the church basement. Twen ty young folks were in atten dance and enioved the festive and social hour. Mrs. A. II. Siekman visited her sister-in-law. Mrs. Julia Pa lm, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Lincoln, Saturday and reports a cast has been applied irom her waist for a broken leg. Mrs. Palin is well known to Eagle folks and a birthday card shower was planned for her. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wall en I tertained at their home Sunday, evening with a family dinner, honoring his parents, Mr. and ; Mrs. Ray Wall's 50th wedding ; anniversary which will be in the ! near future. Fischer and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Frohlich at tended the Trinity Lutheran Church supper near Walton, and later called on former neighbors Mr. and Mrs. Ben Denison near Cheney. The Camp Creek Club mem bers met at Mrs. Clyde Wenzels home, Thursday. During the bus iness meeting, conducted by Mrs. William Malone, the election of officers was conducted. The lesson, "Cake Decorations" was demonstrated by Mrs. Ted Wil son. Mrs. Harold Doran is recover- lng from her recent surgery, very satisfactorily. Mrs. Robert Reynolds of Lin coln, assumed the duties at the Eagle telephone office, during her sister and husband's trip to Niobrara 4 days last week visi ting relatives. The Thanksgiving festive was observed at the Fred Muenchau home on Thursday, when the sons, Lowell Muenchau family of Chadron, Murl Muenchau fami ly of Lincoln and Morris Muen chau family of Eagle enjoyed a family dinner at the parent's home. Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Moore and family of Aberdeen, Md., visited at the homes of Mr. Mo ore sisters and families, the Ral ph Ransfords and Lloyd Rich ards during the last week end holiday vacation. On Thursday, Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Henriksen spent the holiday at the home of their son, Mr. and Mrs. Alan Henrik sen and family at Lincoln. Miss Rogene Mendenhall of Fremont, Nebr., was also at' the cousin's home. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Sch midt and family attended a family gathering at the festive holiday, at the home of Mrs. Schmidts' sister and family, the Mr. and Mrs. Dale Hall's near Elmwood, Nebr. Mrs. Melvin Adams was hos tess for the Pleasant Hill club members on Monday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Caddy and son accompanied Mrs. Caddy's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Holka, Alvo, to Sidney, la., Sun day and visited at the home of a cousin and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Roberts. Lt. J. G. Robert Kropp stopp ed for a short visit with his par ents last weekend, Mr. and Mrs. David Kropp, enroute to Kans as City, from California. He is employed with the T. W. A. Airlines as a pilot, and will as sume his duties from Kansas City. Mrs. Lucy Gerhard of Ocono conowoc, Wise, is visiting her daughter and famliy the Orris Lannings and will also visit the daughter and family, the Chest er ; Bornemeier at Elmwood before returning to Wisconsin where her two other daughters and families reside since mov ing from Nebraska. Mmes Eva Scattergood and Hazel Porter visited their aunt $3.90 in Omaha Friday. . Mrs, Laura West was hostess for the "O" St. Homemakei's project Club Monday. Mrs. George Trunkenbolz visited Friday in Lincoln with her sister Mrs. E. J. Ludl. Mr. and Mrs. O. E. Under wood had the misfortune to have a tie rod of their car break, and were forced In a shallow ditch 2 mile south or U. S. 6 en route to Omaha Sunday. Eagle folks Henry Umlands and Ev erett Mortons happened by and took them into Ashland for re pairs. The Underwoods returned via Lincoln in a different car and visited her sister and hus band, the William Pruessuy's before returning home. Mrs. Flossie Trumble was honored for her birthday at the home of her daughter and hus band Mr. and Mrs. Wellington Dnnis and sons at Elmwood, Sunday. Mrs. Trumble's mother Mrs. Rosa Caddy; Sons Keith Trumbles, and Doyle Trumbles Eagle; a sister-in-law Mrs. Pearl Caddy and daughter Jill Wadow and family of Lincoln gathered at the Dennis home and enjoyed a family dinner, wishing the mother, "Many more Happy Birthdays. " Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Oberle and family of Eagle and friends Mr. and Mrs. Albert Franc ke and son, Walton, observed their wedding anniversaries by "din ing out" at Lincpln Saturday eve'ning. Mr. and Mrs. Billy Francke of Bennet visited at the Eddie Francke and Fred Spahnle res idences Sunday afternoon. Fred Spahnle resumed his employment at Lincoln on Mon day after having had several months absence dire to a brok en leg ana convalescence, tie will work fewer hours a day than he previously did before his injury. Mrs. Howard Root and Mrs. Fred Root motored to Murdock last Friday and honored the birthdays of Mrs. Root's moth er, Mrs. William Knaup and her mother-in-law, Mrs. Fred Root occuring on the same day Sun day. The Howard Root family visited both the Knaup and Root homes during the day and evening. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd White and daughter, Doris Anne of Purdum, visited weekend at the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. Ray Wall and other rela tives They were accompanied by Mr. White's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy White of Broken Bow who remained with another son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph White at Lincoln during their stay. Mrs. George Trunkenbolz re ceived word, her 20 yr. old grand son, Ronnie Shumaker of Weep of Weeping Water enlisted in the Air Force and arrived at Lackland AFB in Texas. Mr. and Mrs. S. E. Henriksen visited their daughter Lucile and family, the Norman Dennings near Central City, Sunday. Several Eagle T.V. fans were watching on Channel 10, Mon day afternoon and during the Merry and Mr. Bill program. Harvey Kropp of Lincoln, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Kropp, Eag le was introduced after he had demonstrated the mechanical and modern eauipment sanitary garbage truck, (owned by a firm in Lincoln to a group of school youngsters.) Mr. and Mrs. LaVell Swarts and Kem attended a luncheon at the Sigma Kappa Sorority in Lincoln. Their daughter, Kay Marie, is a member of Sigma Kappa. Supt. and Mrs. Orville Schmie ding and family were Thanks giving evening dinner guests with Schmicding's brother and family Wilber Schmiding; at Gresham Thursday evening where the parents were also pre sent for the family dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Phillips and grandson, Bobby Manning and daughter Grade, drove to Niobrara, Nebr. last Wednesday and visited relatives until Sat day. Mrs. Val Brummer who Is now staying in Linoln visited at the home of Mrs. Corona Brummer Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. The Good Luck Club of Mur dock held its meeting at the home of Mrs. Verl Stock. The lesson n cake decrations was given by Mrs. Glen Harger and Martha Neben. Lunch was serv ed by Mrs. Mark Stock and Mrs. Marvin Wendt. Due to the storm the November meeting will be combined with the Decembr meeting. It will be Dec. 10 at the home of Mrs. John Murdoch, with a covered dish luncheon at noon and the cookie lesson and exchange in tle afternoon. Mrs. Corona Brummer and her mother, Mrs. Eva Davis, spent Thanksgiving Day at Blair with relatives. A father-son banquet was held Friday evenng at the church parlors with a very good atten dance. Meyers of Sioux City were Thursday guests at the home of Mrs. A. J. It was the first time in the twelve years that many could be in attendance for the family gathering and the day was a very enjoyable, thankful, and reminiscing day. Swarts, and Mr. and Mrs. Way ne Swarts of Ashland motored to Omaha, and attended the Onen House, at the University Medical College. Miss Carol Swarts. is a junior at the college.
