Friends here received word of the death of Fred Luedeke of Orleans. He was formerly of the North Branch vicinity. Mrs. Bryan Seegal entered Bryan Memorial Hospital Mon day for a check up and came home Thursday. Neighbors planned a surprise for Miss Matilda Madsen on her birthday last Wednesday. A dealer from Omaha gave a demonstration of the care ot the skin and how to apply makeup. Arnold French and family moved to Plattsmouth Friday. Mrs. Robert Michle is spend ing several days with her daugh ter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Ganzel, at Nebraska City. Rev. and Mrs. N. H. Horn of Elmwood were supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Dumke Friday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Horn are moving to Arapahoe soon. Air Force Film The Lions Club sponsored a motion picture of the Air Force at the town hall Tuesday eve ning. Also plans were made to have a ground observer corp here. . ' . . Those attending the pagent "Measure of a Moment" Sat urday evening at Omaha were Mr. and Mrs Calvin Carsten, Mr. and Mrs Henry Danhleff, Mrs. Henry Maseman, Rev. Aeschbacher. John Lingle, Sr., had minor surgery Saturday at St. Marys Hospital. He was able to come home later. The book, "McArthur, His Rendevous with History" was presented to the library by the RemUngton Rand Foundation Corporation. The Avoca Homemakers had a skating party. Friday evening for their families and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Linhardt of Seattle, Wash., are visiting his mother, Mrs. Linhardt. Word was received here of the serious illness of William Bail weber at Norfolk last week by Emmett Carter. Mr. Carter left immediately and later Mr. Ballweber passed away. His wife is the former Mueller Shackley, well known here. Mrs. Colter, Gliden, Iowa, is visiting her brother, Ed Denny, this week. The interior of the Central office received a coat of paint the past week.
