Todd Tel. 2441 UNION (Special) Mr. and Mrs. Mark Wiles of Weeping Wa ter were visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Carneal last Tuesday afternoon. Mrs. Carneal had just recently re turned from Brown's Hospital at Nebraska City. Mr. and Mrs. Hollis Banning returned from Deshler last eve ning where they had attended the funeral services of Mrs. Johnson, a sister of Mrs. Ban ning. Mrs. John Ervin suffered a fall one day last week and as a result she has a badly twisted knee. Show Pictures Mrs. L. G. Todd was a supper guest last Thursday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Todd, Sr. After enjoying a feast of fried chicken and all the trimmings Melvin, Jr., and Shar on showed her the pictures they had taken on their. wedding trip to Yellow Stone Park and the Black Hills. The rest of the eve ning was spent looking at the array of beautiful wedding gifts received at their wedding June 10th. Mr. and Mrs. John Alden and baby daughter called on Mr. and Mrs. Louis Mougey last Satur day evening. They visited Mr. and Mrs. Loy Clarence on Sun day and attended church serv ices at the Methodist Church. Mrs. Ivan Balfour and Mrs. Clark Balfour attended the races at Omaha last Friday and had supper with Mrs. Ralph Meyers. Reception Planned There will be a reception given at the Methodist Church next Sunday evening at 8 o'clock, honoring the new minister and his wife, Rev. E. S. DeSpain. Come and meet these fine peo ple and welcome them to our community. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Neil and three small daughters of Ne braska City were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Don Wolfe last Sunday. Mrs. Eunice Balfour went to Nebraska City last Monday morning where she met Mrs. Chester Boyd and daughter, Mrs. Ruth Stone and sons, Billy and Tommy of Burlingame, Calif., Mrs. Nellie Boyd and Mrs. Mabel Campbell. They all had dinner together in Nebraska City. Sunday dinner and lunch guests last Sunday evening at the Lewis Rogers home were: Mr. and Mrs. Darold Moon of Onawa, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Dale Moon and son, Larry of Harlan, Iowa; Mrs. Esther Kiddoo, of Omaha, Mr. and Mrs. Merle Rogers and Mr. and Mrs. Clif ford Rogers and little daughter Cynthia. Attend Sunday School Alan, Paul and Cathy Mullis of Rosemead, Calif., attended Sunday School and church serv ices with their grandmother, Mrs. Ivan Balfour last Sunday. Sunday evening supper guests at the Melvin Todd home were: Mr. and Mrs. Steward Gray and family, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hoffman and family, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Youn? and family, Mrs. Jennie Gray, Don Gray and Shirley Snyder, all of Piatts- mouth. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Balfour en tertained last Monday evening for supper honoring their son-in-law, Paul Mullis and three grandchildren. The guests were Mr. and Mrs. Kent Balfour, Bev erly, Roger and Neal, Barbara Mayfield, Mr. and Mrs. Vance Balfour, Carol and Susan, al. of Nehawka, Mr. and Mrs. Clark Balfour, Marvin and Judy, Phyl lis Meyers of Omaha, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ferguson of Ne braska City, Paul Mullis, Alan Paul, Jr., and Cathy of Rose mead, Calif. Mr. Mullis is leav ing Tuesday for California. Th children will remain here for i longer visit. Butler says Eisenhower abar dons his leadership.
