Linda Long and Sarah Humston dem onstrated their first lesson on muffins, in sewing they are to have their sewing boxes finished. The older girls read parts of the record book and discussed their next meeting. They are to have their patterns and mater ials for their school outfits ready for the next meeting. After the meeting both groups sang songs. Pie, sandwiches and cocoa was served by the hostess, Mrs. Har old Kellogg. The next meeting will be December 30. Little Miss Diane Wotipka was four years old Sunday and to celebrate the event she enter tained seven of her little friends. Games were played and each child received a favor. Diane re ceived some lovely gifts. Lunch of birthday cake with candles and ice cream was served. Two mothers, Mrs. Cortis Lemon and Mrs. Beryl .Keetle . were also present. Mr. and Mrs. George Bornman and Mr. and Mrs. George Born man Jr. and family were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Darold Miller in the Cedar Hill community Fri day evening celebrating Mr. and Mrs. Miller's first wedding anni versary, an oyster supper was served to. their guests. George Dieter of Madison called at the Cecil Stander home Thursday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Weston and Cindy went to Memphis Sunday where -hey joined a group of relative ? at the Chas. Stransky home to help Mrs. Stransky celebrate her sixty second birthday. Other guests there were Mrs. Stransky's sis ter, Mrs. Dick Owen and Mr. Owen, and Mr. and Mrs. Leland Owen and family of Fullerton, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Schulz and family and Mr. and Mrs. A. N. Mrs. Ashley Boiler and Eddie and her sister, Mrs. Roland Tin nean went toj Unadilla Saturday where they attended the funer al of a long time friend, Donald Franks. Mrs. Olive Whitlatch kept Jese and Loren Boiler that afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan E. Arm strong were entertained at a birthday supper at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Lehr at Wann Tuesday evening. Both Mr. and Mrs. Armstrong and Mrs. Lehr had birthdays within a weeks time. Mrs. Sam Long, Linda and Sal ly spent from Friday until Sun day at the home of Mrs. Long's brother, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Scholting in Omaha. During that time Linda underwent a tonsil operation, at an Omaha hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Simpson went to Falls City Sunday, where they spent the day with Mr. Simpson's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Simpson. Mrs. Mabelle Mayer of Frank lin spent a few days last week with her daughter, Mrs. George Bornman Jr., Mr. Bornman and family. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Mayer and family of Omaha visited there Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Warren and family of Elkhorn were Sun day afternoon gueets of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Mansfield. Teresa and Johnnie Planer of Lincoln spent the weekend with their grandmother, Mrs. Henry Timm. Their parents, Mr. arid Mrs. George Planer came for them Sunday. Mrs. Alma Berner of Weep ing Water was a Sunday guest of Mr. and Mrs. James Elliott. The Cemetery Kensington held its regular meeting at the Louis AUgayer home Thursday. Mrs. Fred Ruhge was elected treasurer after the resignation of Mrs. Lyman Hobach. After the business meeting it was turned over to the entertain ment committee for a Christ mas party. There was group singing and games after which there was a gift exchange and a Christmas story. Relatives from here attend ed the farm sale of Noel Gold en, Palmyra, Thursday. Mr. Golden has bought the Mahon ey Hardware in Palmyra. Mrs. Harry Marquardt passed away at her home Sunday eve ning following a years illness. Funeral services to be held Wednesday. She was Eiola Francis of Dunbar. Mrs. Jensen started up the car not knowing it and Mrs. Fletch er was dragged several feet be fore she could get Mrs. Jensen's attention. Walter Noerringer observed his birthday Thursday at his home. He has not been very well lately but the family came in anyway. The family of John Stubben dick helped him celebrate his birthday Thursday.
