The Maguire's for merly of Louisville, now live near Ashland. Mrs. John Stolz is in the Pen ney store at Lincoln in the toy department as clerk this month. The ladies of the Christian church served lunches at the Verl Fleischman sale on Mon day. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Gerbeling of Nora attended church here and then gave Mrs. Gerbeling and Mrs. Plybon a ride to Weep ing Water where they took them mediately following the cere mony. Schwa ninger of Hallam, on Nov. 26 at 7 p. m. in Murdock Emanuel Evangelical United Brethren church. The bride wore a gown of Chantilly lace over satin. The bouffant skirt was fashioned with lace, insets. Her French il lusion veil was held by a tiara of pearls. She carried a white Bible with a white orchid. Maid of honor was Miss Del phine Jewell of Enid, Oklahoma. Mrs. James T. Bang of Lincoln and Mrs. Eldon Oehlerking were bridesmaids. Maid of honor, Miss Delphine Jewell of Enid, Oklahoma, was frocked in rust. Dressed in green were Mrs. James T. Bang of Lin coln and Mrs. Eldon Oehlerking of Elmwood as bridesmaids. Lighting the candles were Miss Margaret Vogt of Wabash and Miss Lila Oehlerking of Belie vue in yellow floor length dresses. Miss Lanyce Schwaning er of Hallam and Miss Connie Jensen of Avoca were flower girls and also dressed in yellow. Victor W. Schwaninger at tended as best man. Ushers were Curtis Schwaninger of Hallam, Eldon Oehlerking of Elmwcod, and Lioyd Vogt of Lincoln. Miss Mabel Luetchens of Day ton, Ohio sang accompanied by Miss Edna Luetchens of Wabash. After December 3 Mr. and Mrs. Leren Schaninger will re side on a farm near Hallam. . The bride is a graduate nurse. Eimwood Mr. and Mrs. Ebeler and Bar bara and Mr. and Mrs. John Box drove to Kerwin, Kansas on Saturday. They visited Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Sweat, their son Stanley and baby Susan Kay, and returned home on Sunday. The bazaar at the Christian church was a success on Satur day afterinoon. Despite the rain in early evening a nice crowd enjoyed the supper. It. happened that Elmwood won the three games played here with Alvo on Friday night. The Volley ball girls' game was part of the enjoyment for players and spectators. Mrs. Emiiy Gonzales and the James Mills family of Murdock attended opera "Der Rosenkava lier" at University Plainsman theater one evening last week. Frank Mills was a leading singer. After dinner Merle went and got Mrs. Lottie Wart and brought her to the Wilson home. Mrs. Wart used to be a neigh bor to the Davison's here in Weeping Water a few years back. The Johnsons have another little boy. Mrs. Augusta Bucknell and her brother, Mr. George Frolich went to Lincoln last week to live with the former's daughter, Mrs. Grace Linch. Mr. and Mrs. Willard Lenning and family moved to the Bailey place which they purchased and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Vernoy and family moved to the place va cated by the Lennings. Sunday guests at the Herman Brunkow home were Mr. and Mrs. John Hopkins and Mr. and Mrs. Edd Steinkamp all of Weep ing Water in the afternoon. Supper guests were Mr. and Mrs. Ray Gamblin of Murdock. Mr. Everett Heir will be the new manager at the elevator in Alvo. During Thanksgiving vacation the Alvo high school and eighth grade students were invited to a party Friday evening, Nov.- 26 in the hall above Rosenow's store. Mrs. Sheron Rathburn, who was visiting Mrs. Esther Clark was also a guest. The eve ning was spent at games, stunts and dancing followed by refresh ments. Mrs. Dick Fischer and Mrs. Lloyd Eradley assisted Mrs. Rosenow with serving and chaperoning. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Rueter and Elmer attended the funeral of their nephew and cousin, Mr. Don Frouck at Bethany Satur day afternoon. They visited at the home of Walt Rueter after the funeral. Sunday night Mr. and Mrs. Rueter visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Willard Rueter and family. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Rueter vis ited friends in Lincoln Sunday. Mrs. Lillie Reber of Elmwood and a grandson from St. Louis were Saturday forenoon visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Reber. Mrs. Lillie Reber has been in St. Louis for several weeks with her daughter since she fell and hurt herself and just came home Fri day night. Mrs. Orin Lanning was hostess for the "OSC" club members Christmas dinner on Tuesday, Dec. 7th. Mrs. H. D. Fischer was hostess for the Camp Creek Club mem bers' Christmas dinner Thurs day. Dec. 9th. The "O" Street club members had their Christmas dinner at Mrs. Gerald Hall's home Friday afternoon. The Pleasant Hill club mem bers' Christmas dinner will be Dec. 16th at Elsie Althouse's home. Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Davidson of Douglas, Nebr. called at the John Fischer home Sunday af ternoon. Rev. and Mrs. Dean Lanning of Texas are expecting to visit a few days at the home of the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Orin Lanning, arriving Thurs day, Dec. 9th, and leaving Sun day. The former will officiate at the Dale Read wedding Friday evening. The W. S. C. S. study group will meet on Tuesday, Dec. 14th at the church basement and will complete the study at that time. They are hoping to re ceive the jurisdictional award as the group has accepted all : the requirements to obtain such an honor.
