A number of ladies helped Mrs Claus Seih celebrate her birthday anniversary at her home on Mon day afternoon. Evening guests were, Mrs Ken Stoltenberg, Hazel Hel enbolt and Carol Cline. Sunday dinner guests in the Claus Seih home to help her celebrate her birthday were, Mr and Mrs Lawrence Aiders and family, Mr and Mrs Alvin Schonefeld and sons, and Mr and Mrs. Henry St a Meeker and Laura. Arthur Wetxler went to Bone steel, S. D. last Monday evening where he met his father, Gust, who came by bu* from Sioux Falls where he spent several days with his wife at the hospital. April 1 brought one of the worst storms «snow i of the season to this vicinity. Roads that were already almost impassible, became worse, and travel was brought almost to a stand-still The mail was not able to get here Friday or Saturday. There were no services at either the Methodist or Catholic Churchs on Sunday. The highways to Chambers and At kinson were both impassable ex cept by aid of a tractor. How ever we received mail again on Monday. We received about 12 inches of snow and rain. Mrs. Maude Forbes and Patty Frahm visited Mrs. Lindsey and Florence Sunday afternoon. Patty is staying with her grandmother to attend school, while the roads are so bad. Mrs. Margie Sammons of Sioux City, la came Monday to visit her son. BUI Sammons and family. Mr. and Mrs George Fullerton spent Sunday evening at Dunk Pet ersim's. Mrs. Edith Andersen, Mrs. Lind sey and Florence spent Sunday eve ning at Blake Ott’s. Mrs, Dunk Peterson accompanied Mr and Mrs. George Fullerton to Atkinson Wednesday of last week. Ten ladies were present Tuesday at the home of Mrs. Edith Ander sen, to take part in the study les son on the Bible's gospel of Luke. Mr. Thompson stayed with his daugh ter-in-law, Mrs, Gene Thompson while they were away. Vernon Thompson went to Atkin son Sunday and brought Mrs, Thompson and the new little daugh ter, Adele Ann home from the At kinson Memorial hospital. Mrs. Maude Forbes returned : home Wednesday after a few days visit with her daughter and son-in law, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Briggs and boys at Rose. Miss Myrtle White of Amelia, psychology education and sociology student at Greenville College, Greenville, 111. has been placed on the college honor roll, which sig nifies a grade average of 3.50 or above for the semester. Miss White, a senior at Green ville is active in Alpha Kappa Sig ma, SEA, Life Service League and the Social Work Club Her parents are Mr. and Mrs. Glenn White of Amelia. The Merry Matrons club met with Mrs. Asa Watson, March 31, with Mrs Irvin Forbes as co-hos tess. A dinner was served. Due to bad roads only 10 members were present. Mrs. George Fullerton and Mrs Harlan Dierking drew the hostess prizes. Mrs. Blake Ott acted as secretary for Mrs. Jack Winings. The club is collecting old nylons, old jewelry, buttons, scraps of cloth, ribbon and yarn to send to a Mental Retarded Home in Red field.
