OBITUARY Martha BHh- M'ftraer Martha Bette Pcndergust Warner was bom October 11, 1894, at Plainview, the daughter of Robert C- and Olive B. Pendergast. She grew up in the Meadow Grove and Ewing communities. On December 20, 1916 she was united in marriage to Walter B. Warner at O’Neill. To this union three daughters were bom. Mr. and Mrs Warner made their home in O Neill for u number of years where Mr. W'arner was in busi ness. For the past fifteen years Mrs. Warner has lived in Denver, Colo. She was a member of the Grace Baptist Church there. She passed away on March 12, 1959, having reached the age of 64. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and one brother. Survivors include three daughters: Dorothy, I Mrs. John R*id! of Denver; Gloria, (Mrs. Russell McKee) of Denver; Mrs. Mike Mitchell of Grapevine, Tex.; one -.lster. Mrs. Archie Bowen of O’Neill seven grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at The Methodist Church, O’Neill, with the Reverend Glenn Kennicott officiating and with Biglin’s in charge Burial at O'Neill. Reid and son. Tommy, Mr. and Mrs Itussell Me kee. and their four chiklren, Den ver, Colo.; Mrs. Mike Mitchel and ner two children. Grapevine, Tex.; Mrs Clarence Berry, San Fran cisco. Calif.; and Mrs. laverne Boot, Sioux City, fa. Atkinson Soldier Receives Medal For Fourth Time FORT BRAGG. N.C. Army Ser geant First Class Walter L. Boy ens 37, son of Mrs Irene J. Boy ens Star Route. Atkinson, recent ly received his fourth award of the good conduct medal while ser ving with the 519th Military In telligence Battalion at Fort Bragg. N.C. Sergeant Boyens, assigned to the battalion’s Headquarters Com pany, received the decoration for bis exemplary behavior, fidelity and performance of duties. He en tered the Army in 1940 and has served in Europe. His wife, Barbara, is with him at the fort. Mrs Maude Rause of O'Neill and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Rause of Ewing, were supper guests at the Gerald Itisor home Monday evening. The occasion was the lit tie Riser girl * birthday. Vic Friekle and Son Rodney, were Friday Spencer visitors. Mrs. Vic Friekle and children visited at the Roy Pease home Sunday evening Mrs. Arnold, Celia Homemakers club president, asks that we warn all you Celia Homemakers not to forget the club meeting to lie at the Inez Hayes home Wednesday. Lee Anderson of Ainsworth vi sited at the home of his uncle. Merrill Anderson and family from March 8 until March H. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Meyers, Beverly and Kenneth, visited at the Merrill Anderson home March 10. The evening was spent playing guitars and singing. Mr. and Mrs. Merril Anderson were March 12 p.m callers at the Merlin Anderson home in O'Neill. Little Miss Peggy Armold has been having a bout with the cold bug and now is suffering with an earache. Jeffrey Spence of Atkinson vi sited with his friend, Jerald Het ser, lost weekend Mrs. Alvin Heiser and daughter, Sharon, accompanied her folks, the Henry Dabrovolny's to Sioux City March 11. Mr. and Mrs Alex Frickie at tended a county official s conven tion in Norfolk March 12. Mr. ami Mrs. Alex Frickie and family were March » supper guests at the Thilo I’oessneeker home. Bill Focken Spent the weekend with his folks, the Clarence Fock en sr. Bill is a student at Hastings College. Doyle and Bill Focken were Sunday dinner guests of their brother and family, the Clarence Foekens, jr. near Stuart. March 3, Vivian Thurlow was a supper guest of Markits Hen dricks Later in the evening the following girls came in for a sur prise shower, Clara, Virginia and Sharon Thurlow, Marietta Ilieser, Marilyn Thompson, Mavis Rahn, and Francis Chaffin. They presen ted Vivian with a lovely set of dishes. Miss Hendricks served lunch.
