Lt. Monte Tayl or Is Wed to Iowan PAGE—Miss Mary Jean Moylan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold T. Moylan, of Bayard, la., and Omaha and Lt. Monte M. Taylor, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Taylor of Page were united in marriage at St Patrick’s Catholic church in Bayard, la., Tuesday, December 28, 1954. Rev. Joseph Moylan of Jemex Springs, N.M., an uncle of the bride performed the ceremony. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white silk taffeta fashioned with portrait neckline and illusion yoke. Motifs of velvet applique trimmed the bodice. The bouffant skirt ended in a wide court train. Her finger tip veil of illusion was held by a tiara of lace trimmed with seed pearls. She carried a bouquet of white roses centered with a white orchid. Miss Patricia Friel of Omaha was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were the Misses Rita Bemica of Topeka, Kans., Jane Kennedy of Coon Rapids, la., and Ann Mur rane of Scranton, la. The atten dees wore princess styled floor length gowns of red velvet trim med with white fur and white kid gloves. They carried bouquets of white roses. Terry Taylor of North Platte was the best man for his brother. James and Joseph Moylan, bro thers of the bride, and David Fitz gibbon of Armstrong, la., usher ed. Christine Taylor, the bride grooms niece, was the flower girl. Dressed in a gown of red velvet, styled after the brides attendants she carried a basket of rose pe tals. The ring bearer was Thomas Fitzpatrick of Bagley, la. A breakfast for one hundred guests in the church hall was held following the ceremony and a re ception at the home of the bride at one o’clock in the afternoon. The couple will be at home at Ft. Benning, Ga., where he is stationed. The bride attended Duchesne college and Creighton University. Lt. Taylor was graduated from Page high school in 1948 and Creighton University where he was graduated from with a B. S. degree from the college of com merce and a degree from the col lege of law. Alderson-Gallagher Nuptials at Neligh Miss Shirley Eloise Alderson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Flakus of Neligh, and James Ed ward Gallagher, son of Mrs. John C. Gallagher and the late Mr. Gal lagher of O’Neill were united in marriage Monday, January 10, at St. Fiancis Catholic church in Ne ligh. Rev. Roger Hayes officiated at the ceremony. Miss Henretta Schroder of Ne ligh was the maid-of-honor and Patrick Jerome Gallagher was the bestman for his brother. Following a wedding trip the couple will live at 628 E. Clay St. in O’Neill. Frontier for printing! . . . prompt deliveries. Inman News Mrs. L. R. Hopkins entertained the Royal Neighbor lodge at her home on Wednesday afternoon, January 5. After the regular lodge session the time was spent socially. Refreshments were served. Mrs. Elizabeth Colman left Thursday morning for Omaha where sne will spend a few days visiting her son and daughter-in law, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Coleman. Mr. and Mrs. James M. Mc Mahan and Cal Geary drove to Bassett on Thursday afternoon to see Mrs. Ralph Nelson and family. Mr. Nelson had been killed by a falling tree on Tuesday, January 4. Mrs James Coventry drove to Lynch on Friday and again on Monday to visit her mother. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Coventry and son, Bob, drove to Omaha Sa turday evening where they spent Sunday visiting Mrs. Coventry’6 brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James Pinkerman, jr., and family. Their son, A/B Ronald Coventry, accompanied them to Omaha from where he took a train for Chanute air force base, Illinois, where he reported for further training. Mr. and Mrs. Ira L. Watson and son, Sam, drove to Valentine on Sunday where they spent the day visiting their son-in-law and daughter, Dr. and Mrs. W. M. Slusher, and sons. Mr. and Mrs. John H. Mattson and Mr. and Mrs. James M. Mc Mahan were Wednesday evening, January 5, dinner guests in the country home of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Jackson and family. A basket dinner was held at the Fred Koinzan home at Bartlett, January 2, by the members of the Beaver Valley club honoring Mr. and Mrs. James Banks of Inman on their 25th wedding anniversary. Guests in the James Banks home Wednesday, January 5, were Mr. and Mrs. O. V. Moore and son, Billy, of Petersburg and Mr. and Mrs. Gaines Rzeszortar ski of Emmet. The ladies are sis ters of Mrs. Banks. Harlan Nielsen, who is employed with the Northwestern Bell tele phone Co., has been transferred from Rapid City, S.D., to O’Neill. Rihanek Elected; Fisher Takes Post BUTTE—J. W. Rihanek of Monowi was reelected chairman of the Boyd county board of super visors at the reorganization meet ing Tuesday. He is the district 1 representative. The following appointments were made: Herman J. Windmeyer, Naper, district 5, claims; R. W. Dicker son, Butte, district 6, and John F. Ludemann, Spencer, district 5, courthouse; Ludemann and C. H. Fisher, Spencer district 7, print ing; Rueben S. Johnson, Bristow, district 3 road equipment; C. A. Moody, Lynch, district 2. The board will act on all mat ters pertaining to roads, bridges, auditing and materials. R. W. Dickerson of Butte was re elected chairman of the public welfare board. The board desig nated the Butte Gazette, the Spen cer Advocate and the Lynch Her ald-Enterprise as official newspa pers for publishing county notices. Retiring supervisor, William W. Braithwait, Spencer, district 7, at tended the morning session. His successor, C. H. Fisher, also of Spencer, assumed his new duties. He defeated Mr. Braithwait in the general election. Marion V. Jordan was appoint ed courthouse custodian. Mlinar with Specialist Unit at Riley— STUART—Army Cpl. Kenneth J. Mlinar, 21, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph F. Mlinar of Stuart is serv ing with the sonic effects platoon of the 5021st service unit at Ft. Riley, Kans. Corporal Mlinar, a clerk typist, entered the army in April, 1953, and completed basic training at Ft. Riley. LYNCH—Robert Pierre, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Lue ken, was baptized at the Catholic church Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. M. Warnke of Butte as sponsors. WSCS Hears from Missions Abroad AMELIA—The Woman’s Soci ety of Christian Service met at the home of Julia White for the December meeting. Sixteen mem bers answered roll call. Blanche Sageser had charge of the devotionals, “The Christmas Story.” The three schools and the soci ety received recognition for their part in the collection of money for the UNICEF. A missionary letter from the Philippines and one from India were read by Marjorie Sammons. A thank-you letter was receiv ed from City Missions in Omaha i for the gifts sent there. Lunch consisting of ice cream : and cake which carried out the J Christmas colors was served. - . Complete Furloughs— Eight service men of the O’Neill community will return today (Thursday) to Ft. Bliss, Tex., af ter spending 15-day leaves visit ing their families. They are Pri vates Gary Wilson, Joseph Flem ing, Edward Seibert, Richard Wil bern, Richard Ratliff, Fred Dunn, Bruce McElhaney and Gary Lech formerly of Atkinson and now of Falls City. Gatz Leaves— Jack Gatz, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Gatz, will leave today (Thursday) for Ft. Bliss, El Paso, Tex. He has recently volunteered ‘for the armed services. O’Neill News • Mrs. Ralph Rees of Amelia was a Monday afternoon guest of Mrs. A. Marcellus. Mrs. Dean Streeter and Mrs. Clyde McKenzie, jr., Douglas, Jean and Joan spent Tuesday at the Clyde Streeter home. Mrs. F. F. Martein of Spencer and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Ander son and family visited Sunday at the home of Mrs. Vivian Martin. Mrs. J. Victor Johnson spent last Thursday afternoon at her farm. Mr. and Mrs. Elgin Ray will leave Friday for Chicago, 111., where they will spend one week. Mrs. F. N. Cronin and Mrs. P. B. Harty spent Tuesday and Wednesday in Sioux City. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Peter were 1 entertained at a dinner at their home on Tuesday honoring their 45th wedding anniversary. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Lumir Hartl and family of Stanton, Mr. and Mrs. Cyril C. Peter and fam ily of O’Neill, Mr. and Mrs. Leon ard Dusatko and family of Em met, Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Pekny and family of Clarkson and Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Peter of Cham bers. One daughter, Mrs. William Buckendahls of Stanton, and her family were unable to attend. A Gideon meeting will be held Friday evening at 8 o’clock at the Fred Lindberg home. Mr. and Mrs. Victor Halva were dinner guests Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hill Castle of Norfolk. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Soucek of Walnut. Joan Clemens Weds Harold Humrich Micss Joan Clemens and Har old Humrich, both of O’Neill, were united in marriage at a dou ble - ring ceremony. Reverend Lewis officiated. The wedding took place in the First Presby terian church at Lake Andes, S.D., at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 4. The bride wore a street-length dress of beige faille with light blue accessories. Her corsage was of red roses. A friend of the bride, Miss Maxine Ackles of O’Neill, was her attendant. Miss Ackles was attired in a street - length dress of blue faille with pink ac cessories. She wore a corsage of pink carnations. ' The bridegroom wore a navy — — — — — — I blue business suit. His attendant, Clifford Clemens of Amelia, brother of the bride, also wore a business suit of light blue. Both the bridegroom and his attendant wore white carnation bouton nieres. Joan is the daughter of Mr. anH Mrs. Levi Clemens of Amelia. She was graduated from Cham bers high school. After attending Norfolk Junior college, she was employed by the assistance and child welfare office in O’Neill and plans to continue her work there. The bridegroom was grad uated from Stuart high school anri is now employed at the REA of fice in O’Neill The couple will reside at tbeir home in O’Neill after returning from a two-weeks’ trip through the Southern states. 500 - 700 Cattle Today • We are expecting between 500-700 cattle today (Thurs day) at our regular sale. • One man has consigned 78 head of good steer calves. An other consignment of 65 head of good calves, also 25 head of breeding cows from northeast of O’Neill, with around 350 steer and heifer calves are expected. The balance of the cattle will be yearlings, cows and mixed consignments. • Weather permitting, there will be around 20 head of bred solid-mouthed ewes coming from the Niobrara community. • This promises to be one of the better sales for January with a lot of fresh sandhill cattle offered for sale. • Hog sale starts at 12.30.
