Afterwards we went on a treasure hunt that had been planned by Sara Lou Moss and Marilyn Beha. Judy Mar tin, Mary Murphy and Suzanne Moss won the hunt, and we all enjoyed it very much. The Girl Scouts are sending a box of toys to Poland this month. October 26 to November 1 is National Girl Scout week. On Saturday, November 1, we will have a court of awards and a short entertainment. We would like everyone interested in Girl Scouting to come. It will be in the dining room of the Golden hotel from 3 to 5:30 p. m. HOA Club in Setsion— PAGE — The HOA club met with Mrs. Alfonso Beeleart, jr., on October 7 with 17 members present. Eva Murten, who has spent the past 10 days visiting friends at Gordon, returned last Thursday. Mrs. Martha Sharp, of Oregon City, Ore., left Friday after spending a week visiting here. She expected to spend a few days at Battle Creek enroute home. A number of Inman friends attended the funeral of Vernon Craig at O’Neill Friday morn ing. The George Cfaig family formerly lived a few miles east of Inman. Howard Clark left Saturday for Maywood, HI., where he will visit in the home of his sister, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Tjessem. Richard Hutton went to Oma ha Saturday to see his brother, Robert Hutton. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Smith, 1 who have been visiting his ! mother, Mrs. Kate Smith, re turned to their home at Pendle ton, Ore., last Thursday. Mrs Kate Smith accompanied them. Mr. and Mrs. John Friday drove to Fremont Oct. 3. Lor en Rakow, a brother of Mrs. Friday, returned with them and is doing remodeling at the Fri day tavern. Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Morrow and children spent October 4-5 in Onawa, la., as guests of Mr. Morrow’s sister, Mrs. John Church, and family. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Stark, of Buhl, Ida., arrived Monday to visit in the home of their daughter, Mrs. James Sobotka. and family. Harlan Moore, who has spent the past 10 days in New Hart ford, la., returned Sunday. Lyle Ruth Jackson, of St. Paul, Minn., came Friday for a visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Kelly. Harvey Sobotka, who attends Norfolk college, spent the week end here. Tom Chwquist spent bunaay in the home of his brother, Vic tor Chilquist, and family, at Foster. Yvonne and Beverly Smith spent the weekend at Page as euests of their aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Smith, and Linda. Mrs. F. M. Haskell has been a guest of Mrs. Belle Lines the past week. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Stark have returned to their home at Buhl, Ida., after spending a few days with their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. James So botka. Mrs. Helen Sholes and son, William, arrived October 6 after soending the past few weeks in Buhl, Ida., in the home 6f their daughter and sister, Mrs. W. Dean Hopkins, and family. Calvin Geary, Harlan Cates and Herbert Beck, of Lyons, were Inman visitors October 6 and 7 looking for club calves. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Kopecky, sr., and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Chud omelka attended the silver wed ding anniversary celebration of Mr. and Mrs. Lod Janousek at O’Neill October 4. Milo Manchester, of Council Bluffs, la., spent a few days last week in the Harry McCraw home. John Cary, of Henderson, la., spent a few days the past week in the home of his parents and sister. Mr. and Mrs. Pearl Cary, and Mrs. Mary Hartigan. Harlan Moore left last week for New Hartford, la., where he is employed. Frank Roper, of Indianapolis, Ind., came October 7 to visit his wife, who is at the home of her parents, Mr. arnd Mrs. G. E. Moor, helping care for Mrs. Moor, who is ill. Mrs. Seralda Johnson Honored by Family i AMELIA—Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd (Waldo and family attended a , family reunion of the Johnson i family Tuesday evening at the Sewell Johnson home near Em met. The occasion was also the birthday anniversary of Mrs Seraldia Johnson, mother of the family. MOVE TO TEXAS REDBIRD—Mr. and Mrs. Jack Ressel drove here from Cham bers last Thursday and visited with Mrs. Ressel’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Will Hartland. The Ressels departed the following i day for Texas where they will make their home. --- Mr. and Mrs. John Kersen brock went to Osmond Sunday to visit relatives. VISITS NORMANDY Mrs. Theodore Roosevelt, jr., widow of Brig. Gen. Theo dore Roosevelt, is visiting Normandy, France, to see and photograph the grave of her husband, who died there shortly after D-Day. Mrs. Homer Van Devender, of Perry, la., arrived last Thursday for a visit with Halsie Hull and family. Mrs. Van Devender is a niece of Mr. Hull. Fred Truax is assisting his son in Boyd county with his farm work this week. Mrs. Mike Hull visited with Mrs. Pete More October 8. Ray Wilson drove to Louse creek October 8 to look after the cattle in the summer pas ture. Fred Baker, of Monowi, visit ed at Mike Hull’s last Thursday. Thomas Hiscocks transacted business in Lynch Friday. Virgil Wilson left for Lake Andes, S. D., last week where he has secured employment. Mrs. Albert Carson and girls drove to Howard Graham’s Fri day. Halsie Hull and family and M s. Van Devender drove to Spencer to visit Dale Spencer and family Friday. Walter Spencer, their grandson, return ed with them for a visit over Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Bessert autoed to Marty Mission, S. D., Saturday for a visit with Mr. and Mrs. John Stewart and also with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Mor ton, of Springfield, S. D. W. H. Hartland was a busi ness visitor at Redbird Satur day. Howard Slack autoed to Boyd county Saturday.
