The degree teams of each camp have been doing considerable drilling dur- j Ing the last month. This will no doubt be a lively contest. The editor of the Sov- erclgn Visitor was over to Council Bluffs camp last week and saw the work of No. 14 team , and Judging from the work of both teams he thinks It will be nip and tuck. Camps throughout the United States are j"making preparations for the Jurisdiction convention which occurs In nine different parta of the country , February 14. At these conventions delegates are chosen for the Sovereign Carap convention which takes place at Memphis , Tenn. , In March , Mrs. Mary J. Huse , supreme guardian of the Woodmen circle of this city , was In Davenport , Iowa , last week on Important business connected with the order. She was the guest of Mrs. Ida Kelley of that city , one of the supreme managers of the order. The order of the Woodmen of 'the' World has had a wonderful growth during the year 189S , there being an Increase of over 35,000 accepted applicants , making the order In the United States and Canada about 160,000. This Is made with a sham lower aklrt , the material extending only fifteen Inches above the edge. The upper skirt U ft smooth circular mod I , closing at the left side , wheie the placket Is concealed under the brown velvet edge , which , laid under the square cloth tabs shown In the Illustration , forms th rich dworatlon of the costume.
