WOMAN'S GLUBS.
Flattsmouth, Neb., Dec. 11.
Friday evening Mr. Walker's homo
was again tilled with tbo members of
the club intereted in art. Tbo usual
business was disposed of and the pro
gram taken up by the leader, Mrs. Sny
der, who was unable, owing to a severe
cold, to give her talk on cemetery im
provement, as had been intended. Tbo
first paper was read by Miss Maud Fox
well, her subject being "Tho Great
Writcre of the Period and Their Iaflu-
ence on Art."
Miss Foxwell reads in a clear, sweat
voice, which is very pleasing. Her paper
showed much study and was .appreci
ated by her hearers.
This was followed by a 6hort paper,
"The Influenco of the Medici on Art."
A paper on Fra Angclico by Mrs.
AVisn abounded in oricinahty and wit,
and showed careful study of tho sub
ject. It was read in a graceful manner

well written paper, "Masaccio. Miss
Hollo aray's papers are always appreci
ated and Bhow a knowledge of the sub
ject in hand.
Tho following poem, written by Isabel
Richoy, was beautifully read by-Mrs.
Stoutenborougb, Mrs. Richey being do
tained at home by illness:

Miss Wild is making a tour of tho
young peoplo's society of tho various
churches with tbo request that two
young women bo appointed to como to
theso Sunday afternoon meetings for
the purposo of greeting and becoming
acquainted with those who belong to the
"unchurched" class, and who find their
way to the roome. Three societies have
been visited so far and their cordial re-
snonso has been very gratifying. There
been much talk ofIatQ ot the need
of a missionary spirit in the societies
