Tbo usual business was disposed of and the pro gram taken up by the leader, Mrs. Sny der, who was unable, owing to a severe cold, to give her talk on cemetery im provement, as had been intended. Tbo first paper was read by Miss Maud Fox well, her subject being "Tho Great Writcre of the Period and Their Iaflu- ence on Art." Miss Foxwell reads in a clear, sweat voice, which is very pleasing. Her paper showed much study and was .appreci ated by her hearers. This was followed by a 6hort paper, "The Influenco of the Medici on Art." A paper on Fra Angclico by Mrs. AVisn abounded in oricinahty and wit, and showed careful study of tho sub ject.
