Nut Bread.
Three eupfuls of flour and t'uee
tcaspoouful of baking powder, one
Uhlcspoonful of sugar and a tea
spoon fu! of salt are sifted together
for this bread. Ceat two rK and
add with one cupful of milk to the
dry ingredient. Add a cupful of
chopxd pecans or Liiglish walnuts.
Mix and let rise in pan fr JU min
utes. Bake in moderate oven.

seven little hrmhers and sister who
are stranded in Omaha.

welfare board i assisting her. Car
men's mother i confined at St.
Catherine's hospital and three of
the older children have been sent to
Livirvievv home temporarily. The
(our younger children are' being
cared for by a family on the South
Side.
The Diaz family wa sent here
by the sheriff at Mankalo. Minn.;
after Mrs. Dial's husband had been
arrested and sentenced to jail there.
The family was penniless and two
or three of the children, including
a baby less than I year old. were
without shoes. Carmen said she be
lieves her father will come here to
help them as soon as he is released
from the county jail at Mankato.
