A little erouo of former galoon men of Omaha at in the Hulse & Riepen chapel, Twenty-third and Cuming streets, yesterday afternoon while a few words were pronouncxd over the bodv of Charles E. Little, for many years a saloon man of Umaha. Jud Cree, Tom O'Brien, Goodly Brucker. John Jackson, Harry Shep- pard and others wiped tears from their eyes as they looked at the body, but were not visibly moved by the theological discourse of the preacher, who passed over the lite of the de ceased without comment. For Charles Little, his friends said, was a man though he was engaged in the business of a publican. "He never took a drink in his life," said Jud Cree, his former partner, in then Antlers saloon at 218 South Fifteenth street. "No, he didn't like it. He often used to say men were fools to drink and many a man he talked to in a fatherly way when he thought he was drinking too much. "Talk about benevolence! He gave away everything he had. He n altvavs civincr nionev to down- and-outers; never asked any ques tions, just gave, and he died so poor that his friends will pay for the fu neral." One of Little's friends. Cree said, was the late Rev. T. J. Mackay, for years pastor of All Saints Episcopal Little came to Omaha ncariy half a century ago and was connected with various bars here. His former partner, Jud Cree, is employed now in the cigar store under the Mer chants National bank. Interment of Little's body was in Forest Lawn cemetery. MONTAGUE THERE'S ALWAYS A REASON I do not spend what others earn On meaningles display; Extravagance I sternly spurn, I hoard my cash away. By smoking fifty-cent cigars I don't impair my liver, I do not use expensive cars, Nor even own a flivver. I seldom see a Broadway show The prices are too steep; The moving pictures may be low, But they are also cheap. With any form of bootleg booze I do not numb my senses. The only drinks I ever use The soda man dispenses. I do not pay a fortune for My shirts or my cravats, I always hunt a bargain store When I'm in need of hats. I never wear imported boots Or hand-stitched English collars, My winter and my summer suits I buy for twenty dollars. In closing, I will frankly state I do not live this way Because of any heart-felt hate 1 For frivolous display. The cash I keep no solace brings, That isn't why I hoard It; I simply do not do these things Because I can't afford it in - IT'S A TOUGH LIFE Guides Have no cinch. Parents' Problems Should a girl in high school, who is not interested in the domestic science course there offered, be re quired to take it? Very likely this girl, once started upon the domestic science course in high school, would find herself in terested in it. Whatever a girl's fu ture life, a knowledge of domestic science will be of such value to her that she should undoubtedly be re quired to take the course and helped to like it. An opportunity to do in the home kitchen what is learned in the school kitchen will help in this matter. This quotation from a doctor's essay on con stipation carries a message of great significance to thousands of men and women. It is now recognized that cathartics never re move the causes of constipation. Indeed, one physician states that the indiscriminate use of cathartics is probably one of the most frequent causes of constipation. For many years there has been pressing need for some simple food that would help restore normal conditions. And now scientists have dis covered it in the familiar little cake of Fleisch mann's Yeast. First came the startling discovery that Fteisch mann's Yeast in itself is a wonderful food, rich in the mysterious water-soluble vitamin e. Then it was found that Fleischmann's Yeast builds up the body tissues, keeps the body resistant to disease. In addition, because of its freshness (you get it fresh daily) Fleischmann's Yeast helps the intes tines in their elimination of waste matter. Fleisch mann's Yeast was tested for this purpose in lead ing medical institutions. Chronic cases of con stipation, some even of years' duration, responded. Fleischmann's Yeast is by its very nature better suited to the stomach and intestines than the ordinary laxatives, and being a food it cannot form a habit. Eat 1 to 3 cakea cl Fleischmann's Yeast a day. Have it on the table at home and on your desk at the office. Eat it plain, spread on bread, or dissolved in milk or fruit juices.
