year was $5,076,486.12, according to
a report issued today. "
Stamp sales for 1920- exceed those
of the previous year-by $11,130.79.
Increase in money order business re
corded at $292,381.22.
The amount of mail, including
parcels, increased 26 per cent over
the year 1919.

Enlist in Army Here
The army is getting recruits from
practically alt crafts and professions
in civilian life, according to Col. J.
A. Benjamin, one of the officers of
the local recruiting station.
Colonel Benjamin kept an ac
count of the various professions and
trades of recruits accepted for serv
ice during the period of December
21 to 27, showing that many and
varied are the occupations of the
men now. enlisting. During this
period common laborers topped the
list with 28 enlistments, with farm
ers second with 23. The others were
as follows: '

plumbers, 1; prfnters, 2; sign paint
ers, 1; brick masons, 1; concrete
workers, 1; sailors, 1; riggers. 1;

coner reports that the park, boule
vard and recreation departments for
the year cost the following amounts
for maintenance: -
