Omaha 's Greatest Need
A School For Motherhood
THOUSANDS of young women marry every year absolutely without
knowledge of the great principles of child-bearing and rearing. Chil
dren suffer from malnutrition and become! crippled and dwarfed and
hampered through life because society has neglected the education of the .
mothers. Thousands of dollars are spent for charity that should be spent
for education of mothers. Two hundred and fifty thousand children were
sacrificed on the altar of ignorance in the United States last year. Omaha
should have its "SCHOOL OF MOTHERHOOD" where young women
could be trained in the proper care and feeding of the young. Omaha
makes no provision in its educational system for this most important work
in our national life. The greatest thing that the city of Omaha could do
for its people would be to establish a School of Motherhood in connec
tion with its educational system. ;
This is one of the subjects discussed
by Miss Lutie E. Stearns in her lec
tures at the Alamito Dairy Com
pany, Leavenworth and Twenty
sixth streets, every afternoon this
month at 2 : 30 o'clock. All inter
ested in this most vital subject of
the day are cordially invited to
'.hear; her,- v-c j.
She wiiralso disftuss :
"SHOULD WE TRIFLE WITH THE BABY'S
DINNER?"
"THE PROBLEM OF THE UNDER-NOUR-.
ISHED. CHILD." .
"WHO MARKS THE ROAD -TO BETTER
MILK?"
"THE DELIVERY MAN A NATIONAL
NECESSITY."
"HOW TO REDUCE THE HIGH COST OF
LIVING."
"A SCHOOL OF MOTHERHOOD OMAHA'S
GREATEST NEED." : ;
Her talk" will bo preceded by an inspection
of the plant and followed by a simple dairy
luncheon of our own products.
