Twisting and whirling, leaving ruin and devastation
in its wake, a tornado swept through the heart of
Omaha Easter Sunday, five years ago.
Debris filled the streets. Homes were swept away.
Little children were left fatherless or motherlsss', or
both. It was a scene of terror a scene of horror.
Bravely1 and sturdily Omaha tried to staunch her
wounds caused by this terrible invasion of nature.
But from . the outside world there came relief.
Twenty-four hours after word had gone out that
. Omaha was suffering, the Red Cross came to us
came like the first ray of light which shatters the dark
' ness.
The hand of mercy reached out to Omaha and poured
' its gold into the storm-stricken areas. '
.. . . ' . .
7 It gave it gave $40,000 to Omaha. ' It gave without
stint. .
The Bed Cross today asks Omaha to give that it may
, now help our boys "over there" as it helped us five
years ago.

The Red Cross Asks for Help
How Much Will You Give?
How much will you donate to help pay that debt we
owe this great hand of mercy a debt of five years'
standing a debt we can never pay in dollars?
xAs willingly as they wended their ways through the
debris-covered streets into the shattered ruins of homes
. in Omaha, the Red Cross workers are today going into
No Man's Land searching for the soldiers who are ly
ing there. x
As willingly as it helped feed the homeless in Omaha
five years ago, the, Red Cross is today feeding those
. thousands of little children and mothers from the war
torn areas of France, Italy, Belgium, Serbia and Ru

You Can't Refuse to Help
As willingly as the Red Cross gave food arid shelter
to the homeless, people in Omaha, it is today caring for
the sick, the wounded and the dying "over there;"
The Red Cross calls to YOU for help.
' Will you deny its plea?
Will it be said that you accepted its help in your
hour of need and when it asked for help you turned
away?
Oh, Omaha! You will not you cannot refuse to
help. You cannot have a greater opportunity of doing
for them as they have done for you.
Give today. Give as generously from your allai tha
