Omaha's representatives among
Uncle Sam's khaki-clad forces will
have their Christmas this year whether
they are in the trenches or training
camps overseas or at the canton
ments at home. For Omaha has al
ready started to do its Christmas
shopping early so the packages may
reacn tne boys betore the holidays.
Omaha stores report brjski Christ
mas shopping for the last 10 days,
with each day adding to the extent
of the shopping. It is expected Christ
mas shopping during November will
be unprecedented this year because
packages for overseas shipment must
be mailed by December 1. "Do your
Christmas shopping early" has be
come a reality this year.
Mailing Instructions.
Misunderstanding reirardinsr Christ

naval forces abroad has been cleared
up by advices received here by the
railway mail service.
These packages will be accepted up
to 20 pounds in weight. They must
be packed in wooden boxes of not
more than two cubic feet in f.ize, with
hinged or screw top to facilitate open

food products other than ' those en
closed in cans or glass jars should be
included in such shipments.
They should be marked "Christmas
Box" and should be addressed with
the nameof the soldier, unit to which
he belongs and sent "in care of
commanding general, port of embark
ation, Pier 1, Hoboken, N. J."
Twelve Cents per Pound.
From there they will be transported
by the War department The French
railways will not transport packages
of more than seven pounds weight.
It is presumed that the War depart

truck from the dock in France to the
soldiers.
The parcel post rate on these pack
ages is 12 cents a pound.
They must reach Hoboken on or be
fore December 5- '
Up-to-Date Studio.
Rodstrom studio, at 1811 Farnam
street, boasts of the handsome finish
of their work. They seem to have
the know-how of artistic photography
just enough light here, not too
much there, putting the shadows
where they will bring out the proper
lines, posing the subject sq that char
acter and personality will stand out
prominently, which takes years of pa
tient experience to control.
Buy .Christmas Cards Early.
The Matthews' Book store, 1620
Harney street, has a very large and
complete stock of up-to-date books.
A number were secured that will es
pecially appeal to soldiers.
Christmas cards should be bought

lection. This also applies to en-j
graved paper and stationery, declares
Mr. Moyer of the Moyer Stationery j
store.

INDIVIDUALITY
Individuality is the keynote to a perfect portrait bringing out
the real personality, the fine points in character, the little traits
that make us what we are, toned down by the natural spirit of an
artist into perfect accord and not a thing of paper and pasteboard
with a raady-mada look.
