"A Strang thing in the Nebraska
regiment is that there are so few dem
ocrats," said Rev. Mr. Poucher.
"There isn't a single officer that 1
know who is a democrat."
It is possible that Captain Poucher
will not return to the border. If the
regiment is likely to be mustered out
very soon he will probably not go
back.

Chicago, Sept. 15. A federat in
vestigation of the increase in milk
prices will be added to the list of food
price inquiries now under way in Chi
cago, United States District Attor
ney Clyne announced today.
Clyne said investigators for the De
partment of Agriculture will begin an
inquiry into the milk situation here
within a few days.
The federal 'inquiry into the, in
crease in bread prices was nearing its
end today. It was said bakers had
convinced federal authorities that an
increase in price was necessary be
cause of advanced cost of ingredients,
but no confirmation of the report was
obtained from Clyne.
