CATTLE Receipts of cattle this morn
InK were very moderate for a Tuesday,
only 12S cars bi-lni; reported In. Taklni
the two uaj's this week together only
4,96) tattle have arrived at the yards.
This Is the smallest for any similar
period of weeks back and smaller than a
year sso by 1.400 head,
. The first cattle In the yards to sell were
butcher stock. Good urylot cows and
heifer were In fair demand and generally
commanded prices that were about
steady. On the other hand Brass tows
were discriminated against and the feel
ing on that kind was weak to lower.
Bulls were about steady, while veal calves
were 25c lower lor the two days than last
week.
There were not enough etnekers or fetd
rs In sLsht to really make a market,
but what there were commanded steady
prices.
Beet steers were slow and largely 10a
lower. Buyers, however, apparently
wanted the cattle at the decline and In
the end practically everything was cleaned
up.

IIOOS The hoc run was lance this
mornln, 216 curs Icing reforteu in the
nrrn. maklni: a total for the two d.iv'j
this week of 19.3H head. This was silghuy
mallcr than for the corresponding days
last week, hut ultli that exception U14
largest ot any por.od for a number of
weeks back. On the other hnnd receipt
for the two days show a falling off of
about 7,60 head as compared with the
mine lwrlod yesterday.
Tho liberal receipts together with early
edtlceii Irom other market noints Indi
cating a sharp break In prices nil along
the lino gave tne uuyers a amiinct au
vantagu which they were not slow In
making tho most of. As n result the

It became npparcnt that conditions were
entirely against thmn salesmen began
cutting loose quite freely, so that the big

ket did not improve any an the day ad

hogs In tho yards sold at 28.07HtJS.10, while
yesterday the bulk movod ut lf.2j3S.26.
A sprinkling of the best hogs sold up
