Sluux City" engaged in two loosely played
contests this afternoon, the Antelopes win
ning the first game, 13 to 8. The second
gains went but flva Innings, being called
with ths score a tie, 8 to 8, to allow the
visitors to catch a, train. Hart hitting and
errors, both of omission and commission,
characterised the playing of the teams.
Barber was knocked out of the box In the
first Inning of the Initial game and Jones,
who succeeded him, was Ineffective and
Lincoln kept piling up runs.
The Champions got to Wolverton In ths
fourth and made four runs, sending him
to the bench. With ths big lead Lincoln
had, Fox managed to keep the horns team
In check during the remainder ol the game,
but he was nil hard.
Cobb's home run and two singles and a
sacrifice gave the Antelopes two runs In
the second Inning of the second game. By
consecutive hitting and an error the Cham
pions made seven runs in their half. Lin
coln came back with five in the first half
of the third, tying the score. Each team
made a run In the fifth and Umpire Clark
called the gam.

SPOKANE. Wash.. May 30.-Deralled at
a sharp curve, twenty-six miles east of
IJnd, Wash., the "Columbian" east-bound
Chicago, Milwaukee A Puget Sound pas
senger train was wrecked early today, the
engineer and fireman Instantly killed and
at least one passenger seriously Injured.
Reports from the wreck ore meager.
The Injured were taken to Llnd. Ths
"Columbian" is the second through pas-
serger train to leave Seattle over this route
since the completion of the road. The
train was new and expensively equipped.
Seven car were derailed. Ths engine,
smoker and day coach were completely
demolished.

The body of Harold L Cox arrived In ths
city today from Bremerton, Wash., wlxri
he was accidentally killed five days ago,
when a hatch cover fell upon him. YounT
Cox enlisted In the navy at Houx City In
February, 1007, and was attache! to the
Tennessee as a first class gun pointer. He
went with the fleet around Cape Hor.t
and was then transferred to the rhlp
Philadelphia, located at the Brcmert n
navy yards. He had completed h s term
of service May, 1910. and had but recently
re-enllsted when the accident befell him.
The Interment will be in this city, where
his mother lives, his father being lha
editor of the Democrat at Diaper, S. D.

Chauncey H. Morris died at his home In
Table Rock last evening after being con
fined to the house for ten days with a
severe throat trouble. He was 76 years of
age. Mr. Morris was born at Canton, 111.,
January 17, 1836, and came to Falls City.
Neb., In 1808. March 1. 1860, he was united
In marriage, to Miss Fannie C. Glddlngs,
eldest daughter of Elder C. W. Olddlngs,
one of the early pioneers of Nemaha valley.
On March 1, 1S10, a little over a year since,
Mr. and Mrs. Norrls celebrated their golden
wedding In Table Rock, where they were
married.

Mrs. Martha Brandt, wife of Peter Brandt,
one of Crawford's oldest settlers," died
Monday at the Brandt home, six miles
southwest of town. Death was due to
paralysis. Mrs. Brandt leaves a husband,
on and daughter to mourn her loss. Fu
neral services were held at the Methodist
ohurch Wednesday, conducted by Rev. A.
T. Carpenter.
