Newslof the'sud (lcn death Saturday night atS Berkeley, Cal., of Miss Buelah Btubba, former wife cf John Sunderland, democratic national committeeman for Nevada, caused a sensa tion here, where she was prominent so cially. Miss Stubba was the daughter of J. C. Btubbs, traffic manager of the Harrlman system and was born in San Francisco In 1S81. She was married in Chicago In 1903 and had resided In Reno ever since. Several daya-ago Miss Stubbs left for the coast to visit school friends and rela tives and at that time seemed well and In good spirits, despite the recent ordeal In the divorce courts, where she obtained a decree en March 16 last. Friends here scout the idea that domestic' troubles had the effect of hastening the end. Prof. J. E. Stubbs, president of the Uni versity of Nevada and ' uncle of Miss Stubbs, left last night for Berkeley. J. C. Btubbs will pass through Reno Monday on a special train from Imperial, Cal. The mother- and sinter left Chicago on a special train to attend the funeral. It Is known here that Miss Stubbs liaj suffered from heart trouble, coupled with an obscure organic ailment, the nature of which has not been disclosed.
