engine have been ordered y th North
western for delivery during tho nxt two
or three months for use on all It through
passenger trains. These large engines will
be able to hnndle a loaded train of four
teen standard rullmaa sleeping cars.
The Northwestern has also Increased th
carrying capacity about 15 per cent per
mil of Its freight ear by th purchase
during th last twelve months of 1.000
freight cars of modern type and capacity.
These will assist most materially In th
heavy grain movements which are soon to
start. The average of most roads Is seven
cars to the mile, but th Northwestern now
has an average of eight freight car to th
mile. Fifty new heavy freight engines
have been ordered to assist In th move
ment of all these additional cars, each with
a I aullng capacity 40 per cent greater than
that of the largest type now In us on th
Una.
Th Northwestern has decided to replace
it present passenger equipment as fast a
possible with steel cara and orders have
been placed for 125 steel fireproof coaches,
chair cars, parlor cars, dining cars, postal
cars and baggage cars for early delivery.
These will all be equipped with nonootlaps
Ible htavlly reinforced steel frames with
the most modern vestibules, high upeed air
equipment and the latest improved draft
$ear.
The floors win be laid with a sanitary
composition that adds strength to the car
and deadens the noise of the trains, Th
seat frames are steel and no cpmbustlbl
material enter Into any part of th con
struction. The new equipment will b pro
vlded for all the through passenger trains.

yesterday, Dr. Henry B. FavlII of th Chi
cago Tuberculosis Institute declaring:
"It was a wise precaution to take, and
It would be well for all persons who have
pathognomonio symptoms to be careful
before entering upon th marital state.
White It is no longer generally believed
that diseases such as tubercular Infections
are inherited by the children of afflicted
parents, th danger lies in another direc
tion. "Such Infections are contagious and can
be transmitted by the husband to th wife,
or by th wife to th husband, and it
would be difficult to maintain ch con
dition of hygiene In the family that such
contagion would not be possible.
"In all such cases I would consldsr it
wis to pursue th same course a Mr.
Cudahy and postpone the wedding until
the disease has been eradicated and until
their physicians hav advised them that
ther 1 no further danger of spreading
th contagion."

Two suits hav been filed to prov that
Ferdinand Ihs, a wealthy farmer of Ben
nington, who died recently, leaving an
state of about $10,000, was Intoxicated
when he made his will,, and was unduly
Influenced by some of his children against
Wllhelm Labs, tils eldest son.
Wilhelm has filed an objection In county
court to having the will probated on th
grounds that It was made out under undue
Influence, and he has brought suit In
district court to have his title In the 1(4
acre farm near Bennington quieted and
made certain. He declare tn his petition
that he worked for his father without
compensation until his father's data, July
1, of this year, when he was M years of
age, and declarea that It was agreed that
he was to get the property. On this under
standing he had gone ahead and built a
bouse upon It for his own use.
Before hfs death, the elder Labs made a
will devising tha property to Ferdinand
F. Labs, another eon, and Wllhelm was
left out. Several other relatives, who were
given small bequests, are made panics to
