CATTLE Aa uaual of late oa Friday the
receipts of cattle were very small, there
not being enough here to really make a
test of the market. The few here, however,
sold very readily, practically everything
being disposed of by a- o clock in the morn
ing or soon after.
Packers all seemed to .want a few beef
cattle and they were out early cleaning up
the offerlnga in short order at good strong
cricea gome cattle that Just happened to
be wanted sold at prions that looked quite
a little better than yeserday. Cattle todny
are aafely 2t,fi4ac higher than last week a
low time, with handy light rattle of good
duality in soma cases showing a good toe
advance.
The few oows end heifers here met with
resdy sale at good strong prices, everything
being disposed of very readily. Cows and
h'''r did not decline so much last week
as did beef steers and thev have not put
OB ,,?much thi' eek. the good kinds
are KnJilRc higher for the week, while me
dium and inferior grades have been very
alow sellers most of the time, with com
paratively utile change In prices.
There were no stockers and feeders here
today of any consequence, but the feeling
was sbout steady. In fact there has been
no noteworthy change In the feeder trade
thia week. Both eupply and demand haa
been moderate and price have remained
about stationary.
