Aug. 8.-In a light breeze, thirty boata started today In half a dozen matches, under the auspices of the Hoyal London Yacht club, with the week's yachting program opened. The most Interesting event was the handi cap for big schooners, In which Emperor William's American built Meteor started at scratch against the German yachts Susanna and Clara and the British Adela. The Royal yacht's squadron regatta will begin tomorrow and will last four days. The most important races will be for the cups orfered by King Edward and Emperor William.
