neys for Brandels & Son, who bouRht the
bonds, and after discussion It wus decided
to get a court ruling on the point in order

The reul point at issue is whether the
city has any right to issue bonds or use
money from bonds for buying real estate.
It is contended there is no authority for
issuing. Helling or using the proceeds of
bonds for doing aught with fire engine
houses, but paying for the cost of construc
tion. It would not surprise the legal depart
ment to have the courts take this view. In
rase the decision is that way it means sub
mission again to the voters Ht the spring
election, or for the third time, and con
siderable delay in tha erection of the buildings.
