to one or two of the larger traders who

CATTLE There
3,662 10.465 6.764
were 173 loads here to-
day, an Increase
over last Wednesday of
flfty-nino cars and an increase of 118 cars
as compared with the same day last year.
The quality of the receipts was good and
there was a fair sprinkling of western and
Texas cattle offered.
Sellers had the advantage today in the
beef steer division and prloes ruled gener
ally hlghir. . Buye'a were out early and
there waa a fair call for good cattle. The
corn-feds were what were wanted and on
these kinds trading was active and the
market generally 6al0c higher. The bulk of
the steers, however, were weatern and
Texas t.T, md buyera were slow to take
hold of them. Trading was dull and draggy
and prices a little weaker. Packers claim
a poor outlet for beef at present and that
their coolers are full, and as a consequence
they are rather poor buyera
The cow and heifer trade was slow today,
there being but little activity to the de
mand. Buyers were Indifferent on the west
ern stuff and prices ruled a little weaker.
Corn-feds, however, while not any higher,
were In fair demand at Just about eteady
prices.
The bull market waa unsatisfactory, buy
era overlooking anything that waa not very
good. Prices on the common atuff wera
lower, but veal calves and stags were about
steady.
Thero was a fair supply of stockers and
feeders on sale today and there was a good
demand for the stuff. 'Trading was fairly
active on these kinds and the market was
stronger. Representative sales:

8HEEP-There were about ten cars of
sheep held over from yesterday, making,
with the eighteen cars received today,
about twenty-eight cara on sale. There Is
a good deal of sameness to the market, no
new features developing. AS noteu yesiei

and the small outlet for mutton has demor
alised the market at all points, and aa
values have been too high all along condi
