CATTLE There waa rather a llrht run of
cattle here today, and as packers were all
liberal buyers practically everything was
out of first hands st an early hour. There
were some cattle that snowed considerable
quality, and they also sold to good ad
vantage. The tendency of prices was up
ward on all desirable grades of fat cattle.
There was a fair sprinkling of fat steers
here today, and the market could safely
be quoted active and 6ff 10a higher than
yesterday. Aa high aa 86.45 waa paid for
a bunch of steers, but they were of good
quality. The advance today was general
00 all grades with the possible exception
of the very common kinds. Buyers were
all out eany and it only took a short time
for everything on sale to change hands.
There was also a good demand for cow
stuff where the quality waa satisfactory.
There was not mucn cnange in tne prices
paid, but still the market could be quoted
active and fully steady. As high as 85.60
waa paid for a full load, which Is the
hlghestprice of the season for a load of
cowa. The medium kinds of cows and the
canners were neglected, the asms ss they
have been all along, and packers did not
seem to care whether they got that class
of cattle or not. For that reason the
prices paid are uneven and the market
cannot be quoted any more than steady,
nulla veal calves and steers sold in lust
about the same notches they did yesterday.

HOOS There an another liberal run nf
hogs here today, but In spite of that fact
the market was active and fully 5c higher
than yesterday. The advene waa general
and was fully as great on the lightweights
as on the heavy hogs. The market we
more active today tlinn It has been fier
sometime paet, and lu fact everything waa
sold at an early hour. The Quality of the
offerltiga was slso unususJIy good, which,
pernspe, nad something to uo witn tne
activity of the trade. The good weight
hogs sold largely from 9t)30 to 46.40, and as
high as 9460 was paid. The medium
weights went largely from M.16 to 9630. and
the lighter hogs sold from 96.16 down.
Today s sdvance carries the market back
