The Information states directly that the so-called doctor Is guilty of Illegally proof lu- ing or attempting to practice , aim Incident ally tlmt ho lias been picked out by the State Hoard of Health ns their meat. In connection with those charges there Is a llttlo interesting information regarding the doctor. Some tori years ago , Dr. Llobor hung out his shlnulo near the corner of Thirteenth and Cnpltol nvenuo , where ho dispensed decoctions of "yaibs" or Im mersed his patients In baths of unknown mixtures a.s the fancy suited him. For u time ho floutIshci ) , and then the place that had known him know him no more. Ho had packed up his "yarbs , " bottled up his bath Juice and nought newer nnd greener Holds. While his memory was still fresh ho reappeared llko n comet , nnd for nshort tlinn all sufferers who called on him \\oro treated to a hearty swis from nn lm- tnonso Jug that _ \vus u conspicuous article In ono corner of his little ofllco. The treatment was something on the old lima plan , und the theory was that mcdlcino that was good for chlllblnins would uo equally helpful in a case of typhoid fever , But Dr. Ltobor was not hero to stay. Ho disappeared again nnd turned up in Council Bluffs , where he remained for u time und was next hoard of iii Mitchell , S. D. A few months ago ho ngaln located In Omnha nt Twenty-fourth nnd Plnknoy streets , where lie has boon superintending the workings of his oaths und dispensing specifics to great and small. When arrested the doctor found a bondsman in Peter Gees , who signed the 200 uppeu'anco bund , nnd the prisoner was released. Yesterday , however , Mr. Gees refused to continue longer on the bond , nnd the defendant was suirenderod into the custody of the ofllcars. Another hustle for ball was unproductive of good results , and the doctor was locked up. ! rom u well icnown druggist something of Llober's modus operand ! was learned. "Lmbor won't stay in jail , " bo declared. "I couldn't go on his bond , because If 1 did 1 would hnvo nil the other doctors down on mo , but It will bo fixed up In another way so that ho will got ball this afternoon. I have known him for years and I know that ho makes money. Ho buys n good deal of stuff of mo and pays cash , and his business Is just ns peed ns anybody's. He registered with County Clorn O'Mulloy the lust time ho was hero , but ho didn't this time. " 1 know ho hasn't a diploma , nnd ho Is un educated , but ho has moro practical know ledge than some of the doctor ? who nave di plomas. Ho has plrntv of assurance and can make folks bollovo black is white. What If ho is a quack ] Folks want to bo hum bugged , and ho can do it as well us nnj one olso. Ilo don't hurt nny- body , ' as his medicines are harmless. I Know what ho buys. Ho gives patent med icines mostly , nnd folks don't know It. What If ho does buv Ayer's ' Cherry Pociorul and give It out In llttlo bottles labelled 'Dr. Lio- bor's Cough CuroC The modiclno will do Just ns much good , won't It ? They can't convict him , for he is really a patent med icine compoumlor. " 1 have Just gotten in a lot of labels for him. Some of them cumo this morning , Hero they nro , " and the druggist hauled out several packaccs of labels among which were n couple reading us follows : "Dr. Llobcr's Kidney Specific , the Great est Panacea f6r all Kidney and Urinary Dis cuses in the World. There may bo no dllTorcnco ut all , or ho may add u little water or anything ho chooses. I tell you there nro lots of folks in Omaha who sweat- by Liobor , " nnd the prescription compoumlor carefully replaced the labels in a drawer under the counter before going to wait on a customer. "Liobor don't have to stay In jail , " he do- clatcd , as ) < r returned to further discuss the subject. "Ho bas money in the bank and could put It up for his release , but his lawyer advised him not to do it , because if the court found out that ho had It ho might bo lined enouch to take it all und not leave anything lor the Sawyer. _ A C.cx.d I.rltcr.
