to Tun Ur.K.1 The wheat market xvns rather
dull to-day and prices did out undergo any
Important cbango. Cable wore easy and
brouirht gelling orders. Hccolpts at Interior
points arc increasing. Arrivals of winter
wheat do not average up well in point of
quality. Duluth Is getting tlio finest wheat ,
it3 : cars out of 151 received to-day grading
No. 1 hard. Minneapolis Is receiving a larger
tiroportlon \ > t lower prnJcs than Duluth.
Winter wheat that Is coming to tha front
now Is not supposed to represent tlio quality
of the crop. A peed deal of wheat that waft
anmagcd by tlio harvest rains is being mar-
kotcd'and gotten out of tha wny. This is
supposed to account for tlio dlsproportlonuto
amount of low grade gram that is shown in
its returns. Spring wheat millers nro llgur-
Intr on four bushels of wheat making a barrel
of flour this year. Last year nearly
flvobushuls wororequired. The Improvement
in tlio avcnuro crop In winter wheat this
.vcar over last year Is marked. Parties in tha
trade ngrco from this that In point of pro
ductiveness the total United States crop this
year should bo figured at no less than C5-
000,000 bushels and possibly 07,000.000 bush
els. The boars anil bulls find consolation in
this theory , tlio former contending thut sup
plies will bo larger than last year or any
average year , which must depress values
through the season , and the 1'nUcr holding
the opinion that on account of the excellence
of the quality of the crop there will bo u big
demand for our surplus at good prices. It is
qulto plain , however , thut outside interest
in the deal lags , and any Important advance
in the nbficnco of general popular Inquiry is
not looked upon us likely to occur. This ,
however , is a feature that is liable to com-
pluto change in any twenty-four hours , The
dullness of to-day may give place
to a boom tomorrow.There t
Is nothing in sight now to
indicate any such speculative metamorpho
sis , howovnr. Price changes to-day worn
comprised within limits of about Jfc. Spec
ulative trading was not spirited , and it was
small in volume. The heavy weights oper
ated In a small way , and the little follows did
a small business or did nothing. Outside
trading In wheat xvas not up to the average ,
though public interest in the other articles
dealt in on 'Ohungo brought the total busi
ness up to a satisfactory uggroiMtc. In the
cash'llno the transactions were of u quiet
order. Irwln , Green & Co. and Seckol
worked 68,000 bushels of No. B red for Now
York. The opening quotations were 77 c
for September , 70 , ' c for December , and b3c
for May. September ranged at TT tJJt'ifc ,
and closed at } < i. December sold down to
78c , moved b.ick above 79c , ana during the
greater part of the session was held at TUc or
fractionally above. The last quotation was
TUc. May ranged at SSQiUJ o , and closed at
W.'s'c ' Last prices record u slight shrmkugo
on all futures except May.
The corn market opened with a consider
able number of small lots for sale. The re
ceipts wcro within a few cars of the previous
estimates at C70 cars. There wore n number
calculated as arrivals for to-morrow. The
Liverpool market was quoted as being
strong , nnd the oaily demand for cash offer
ings was brisk at about % c advance on yes
terday's sales. The area of low temperature
was apparently moving slowly eastward ,
light frosts being reported from points la
Nebraska and Iowa , although no damage to
r corn has so far resulted. There was nerv
i ousness , however , regarding the situation ,
which hindered selling except in tlio way of
unloading previous purchases at some profit.
There was a fair amount of activity in the
pit. and after selling down r.bout ) { ® % c
from the opening figures , more firmness and
a reaction took place , with some nervous
*
buying by shorts. September ut ono time
commanded a slight premium over October
nnd an easier feeling again suc
ceeded , the closing prices being 83JjjC
for September nnd 'Mi33 } u for October ,
which was about 3 o under the closing fig
ures of yesterday.
Oats partook of the general quietude pres
ent in the speculative markets , with only a
fair business recorded at a narrow range.
May opened } fa higher owing to frost talk ,
unexpectedly small receipts and the
prcscnco of a few buying orders.
With tht'so tilled the improvement
disappeared , prices receding to 13a and
later ruling a trillo steadier. Fair quantities
of oats were delivered on September con
tracts and near months were eusy with only
mengro support given. A moderato business
was douo in No. 2 outs to go to store , which
wcro about steady at ID o for regular. No.
2 white for September sold at 21Jfc.
(3 In provisions this tendency was a little
bearish. The opening was qulto strong , but
in different lines except October pork.
There was a disposition to sell the market
down. October pone was iireelilar ; but on
the whole higher than yesterday. In that
urticln liutchlnson is now this recognized
power , and his movements nro consequently
closely watched. Ho made no demonstration
to-ilay and appeared satisfied with Impress ,
ing upon too trade the fact that the market
would bo looked after. Trading was spasmodic
medic all around and without special fea
ture , tha principal seller being a broker wuc
frequently nets for Armour. Compared will
yesterday's 11 mil prices the closing showed
nu uavanco of 5o In October pork and u de
cline of 2)4@5a in the different deliveries of
lard uud snortrlbs.

Wo make this explanation for the benefit of persons who may feel Inclined to

Best Facilities , Apparatus nnd Remedies for Successful Treatment ot
every form of Disease requiring MEDICAL or SUKGlCAIi
TItEAXHENT.
In this department are CBpocially successful. Our claims of superiority over
nil others are based upon the fact that thiH is the only medical establishment man
ufacturing surgical braces and appliances for each individual case. "We liavo
three skilled instrument makers in our employ , with improved machinery , and
Lave all the latest inventions , as well as our own patents and improvements ,
the result of twenty years' ' experience.
The treatment of diseases by electric'f.v has undergone great changes within the
p stfow years , and electricity fsnowack n wledccd by all schools of medicine as tha
gieat remedy in all chronic , special and nrve diseases , for nervous debility , par
alysis , rheumatism , diseases of women , e c , and in many eye and ear diseases it
i.i the most valuable of all remedies.
In order to obtain jts full virtues , it is absolutely necessary to have the proper
apparatus. Wo have lately purchased three of ; the largest and most complete
batteries manufactured , so constructed as to give the most gentle as well as the
uiost powerful current. Persons treated at this Institute by electricity recognize
at once the difference between our expensive and complete electrical apparatus
and the common , cheap batteries , in use by many physicians. Over 3,000 dollars
' .uvcsted in electrical apparatus.
PRIVATE , SPECIAL , NERVOUS AND
BLOOD DISEASES.
Wo claim to bo the only reliable , responsible establishment in the west making
a specialty of this class of diseases. Dr. Mcllonamy was ono of the firHt thorough
ly educated physicians to make a special study of this class of diseases , and Ida
methods and inventions have been adopted by specialists in Europe and America. '
He is the inventor of the Clamp Compress Suspensory , acknowledged the best in
uso. All others are copied after his invention. Uy moans of a simple operation , '
painless and safe , recently brought into use , we euro many cases that have boon
given up as incurable by medical treatment. ( Head our look to men , sent fret to any
address. )
DISEASES OF USTOD
We have had wonderful success in this dopartu-.ent In the
past year , and have made many improvomonti In our facili
ties for treatment , operations , artificial eyes , otc.
CASES TREATED BY LETTEH.
Wo have greatly improved our facilities and mfthoda of
treating cases by correspondence , and are having belter success m tills doparU
mont than over before.
Wo are fully up to the times in all the latest inventions in medical and fiurgical
operations , appliances and instruments. Our institution is open for investiga
tion to any persons , patients or physicians. Wo invite all to correspond with or
visit us before taking treatment elsewhere , believing that a visit dr consultation
will convince any intelligent person that it is to their advantage to place them *
selves under our care.
Sinc&tkis advert isementjlrst appeared , many boasting pretenders and frauds hav
come and IJOM und many more will come and yo , remembered only by their unfortunate
undfoolim victims.
"A wise man investigates first and decides aftencards ,
A fool decides first , then investiyutca. "
The Omaha Medical and auryical Institute isindorecd by t ! > t people and the press.
Wore capital invested , more skilled physicians employed , more modern appliances , instrU'
