Thursday , May 24,18S3.
Thcro wcro hardly enough cattle hero to
make n market , only nineteen fresh loads
being on sale. The light receipts had n stim
ulating effect upon the market which was
strong nnd 5o higher on dcsimblo grades.
About , all the desirable cattle here were sold
before the close.
HOUR.
The receipts of hogs wore heavy again to
day , although thcro was n falling off of about
llfty loads as compared with the day before.
The market opened quiet and the buyers gen
erally were bidding lower prices. In some
cases hogs soli ! as much ns Gc lower , but tak
ing the market ns a whole it could bo called
barely steady. The hogs wcro all sold by 1
o'clock , the market closing strong.

ket.
