which there has been nny Inquiry , Is Rood
fnt steers of medium weight. Conrsu , heavv
and gnissy cattle of all kliula nrc not wanted.
The run of hois was liberal for tlio close
of the week. The market opened strong and
active at nn advance of 5@10c. Tlio buyers
were all represented on the market nnd
everything wns sold and weighed up before
mid-day. The water supply Is now In such
shape that the packing-houses can run full
force , which will have a tendency to keep
the rnniket up.

cattle which will soon bo ready for market.
W. C. it. Allen , the oopular stock agent of
the OrcKon Short Line , was In. Ho says the
great bulk of the stock from the northwest Is
bound to come this way Instead of going
over the Northern I'ncltlc.
The pumps ha VD been put in operation and
are lound to be fully adequate to the require
ments of the packtnc-houscs. This will
obviate the necessity nf closing down the
packing-houses for the want of water.
M. Hurku & Sons purchased of the well
known thoroughbred cnttlo breeders , Sotham
A Stlcknuy of i'ontlac , Mich. , twenty-four
he.ul of their thoroughbred Hereford bulls ,
to lie used on thplr western cattle ranges.
