At the opening , bears were treated to a genuine surprise by the etrengto displayed throughout , but it was allowed by an advnnoa in loaning rates for ho former , whichdid not culminate in us much M jj of 1 per cent wai paid for the use of the stock for the day. The rally was also accom panied by a decided improvement In the amount of business dona , and the advance waa not checked until after 10 o'clock.
