Review ol the Week.
While the general market was moderately
actho , there was less animation manifested
than usual. Collections are reported better ,
and country merchants are feeling more hope-
fill since the crop prtMjiccts have brightened.
Western orders are on the increoxe , and trav
elling men from thn Territories report the out
look much better than was anticipated some
time ago. The grain market is unsteady , and
has a lower tendency , wheat hating declined
nearly every day tills week. Dry ( Hoods are
firm and comparatively unchanged. Order *
are coming in only fairly nowhowever | , as the
season for certain lines Is alxmt over. Grocer
ies are active , and sales about equal to last
week. The hardware and lumber market is
firm and unchanged with good local and west
ern demand. Commission goods , such as
vegetables , butter , eggs , green fruits etc. were
especially active and in good demand , with
largo shipments and receipts somettlmtlimlted.
Prices fluctuated tn a considerable extent , but
closed to-day at about the same figures as were
reported last Saturday ,

Largo orders were rctx > rted from local retail-
em , also Home heavy shipments to the west
ward. As usual on Saturday forenoons , pro
duce , fruit and general communion goods were
active and In good demand , nnd before tlia
clone of the day , a laigo and satisfactory bus
iness was notad. The gialn market remained
unchanged , but produce declined tumioulmt ,
owing to the increased supply which thu ad
vanced state of the beason affords.
