A Land Ofilco Business.
Mr. Kendall , state land commis-
ioner , informs us that his department
las had aomo work to do for the past
nonth. An examination of state
.eases and deeds for common school
and a alone issued during the thirty
days ending January 14 , 1882. is of
general interest to the people in the
tato. During this time there wore
hirty-aovcn deeds issued convoying
2,060 acres of land , for a considera-
ion of § 16,593. There were made
40 sales , amounting to 13,930 acres
'or the consideration of $104,530. ,
There were issued 118 leases covering
1,410 acres. Mr. Kendall says
ihould ho add to these figures the
.ransactions on university , normal
ichool aud agricultural college lands
during the tame period , it would
largely increase the showing , which is
ho best for the length of time yet
made. Lincoln Journal.
