The vhoel , which throws the snow fioin 100 to 200 feet , and at an tingle of , wenty-livo degrees from the track , is ! on&tructod so as to cut the snow with i shearing motion , im-tciul of scooping t up like a shovel. Tt is propelled by roworful engines , constructed and ar ranged on a car made purposely for this machine , giving the wheel the re- juiredpowerund velocity to enable it to tlirow the snow , by centrifugal force , ( it a great highlit and distance. There are two wings projecting over the wheel from each upper comer of thu car which break the circular curiont , forming hvo .separate ones at an angle of forly-livu degices. All tlio snow coming in contact with the wheel , below the axle , passes out by the lower , or side , eurient , and that which conies above the axle pisses out by tlio top current.
