the Botany department.
On November 2Cth the University
Cadet Battalion will appear In full
uniform. The battalion this year
numbers three hundred and fifty.
Professor Bruner left Wednesday
for Crawford, Neb., to deliver a lec
ture at a farmers' institute. He will
also deliver lectures at Hay Springs
and Rushvllle before returning.

Doctor Brace, of the deportment of
physics, returned last week from the
cast. He is looking well again after
his long illness but will probably not
resume his work for some time.
A plan is being considered by the
faculty committee, whereby students
who have completed any high school
course which has been approved by
the University will be admitted to full
freshman standing.
Chancellor Andrews attended the
meeting of representatives of the Am
erican Experiment Stations at New
Haven, Conn., last week. Dr. Hill
took charge of the class in Practical
Ethics Saturday morning.
Tbo physics seminar meets Monday
evenings at 7:00. These meetings are
proving interesting and instructive.
By attending them the teachers get
the benefit of one anothers ideas and
also keep posted on work done at
other places.
Miss Bouton has organized a class
in Bible study which meets with, her
every Monday evening. The class is
divided into two B9ctlons, one meet
ing at seven o'clock and the other at
eight The class is composed of both
University girls and city "Y.W.M girls.
The executive committee of the
Western Philosophical Association
met in Kansas City, November 2nd.
They made arrangements for holding
tho regular meeting at Lincoln, bo
ginning December 31st, and ending
January 1st. An offer by tho Philos
ophical Review to publish the pro
ceedings in lull; "wiis accepted. Pa
pers .will bo read' by 'Dr.. Bolton and
Dr. Hinman.
Minnesota is making arrangements
to run a special train to Lincoln, for
tho Thanksgiving game. Sho will
bring her baud with her. Prepara
tions aro being mado by Mr. Wehn to
havo tho University Cadet Band out.
